Slate Grey Metallic Color Matched

Recommended Posts

So I'm in the process of replacing all of the chrome on the front on my truck. I bought a grille just so I could get the surround to color match it along with the hood vent and the door handles. I also have the mirror caps on order so I can color match them as well. I'm going to install the black T-Rex grille instead of the factory one.

I am in the process of doing the same to my 2017 2500hd silverado. what t-rex grille are you going with? I replaced my mirror caps already but just with the black textured ones and also replaced the mirror lights with smoked lenses and led strips. who did you order your caps through? I went through boost auto.

I ordered mine through the dealer since I get them at their cost. I went with the black billet grille with the lower section for the bumper. I havent installed any of it as I am going to do it all at one time

So the T-Rez doesn’t fit the 2017 as of yet. I purchased a new grill so I didn’t have to destroy the one on my truck. First off the brackets that they supply don’t fit and they offered to make me a new set which worked fine. Then you have to cut away so much more that it loses support and rigidity. Anyways I went a different route and bought a black GMC Emblem and I put my club logo in the left corner. I’ll take more pics of it tomorrow on the truck as it was dark.

How about a nice before pic? My Silvy is slate gray. I'll be following this one :)

I will post some later on today but here is the before and after pic of the door handles and the moldings/badges removed. I  haven't got around to installing the mirror caps yet or the hood vent as I just haven't had any time but will soon

Looks good.  I also have this color but on a 1500.  When you purchased the new grill, was it chrome plated as well and then you painted over it?  I'm debating on doing as you did and swapping all chrome with paint to match parts or black parts.
