Driver Side Axle Seal Leak

got a 2007 escalade ext, was at my mechanic today and he said that the driver side axle seal has a leak. the passenger and rear are fine. He said I should get it done but we will check the front diff fluid level and see how much is leaking first. He was thinking 2-3 hours of labor to do this. Is that correct? or is there some shortcut that he maybe doesnt know about? its the driver side axle seal. Its like slightly leaking he said. Should i get it changed? what should i do? etc

Personally if it's only seeping, I would just keep an eye on it & keep it topped off. I'm not sure but 2-3 hours seems a bit much. When I replaced the same seal on my previous truck, 06 Sierra, it took me a total of 2 hours including the necessary beer break...or two.
