Console changed moveable cup holders?

I just picked up a 17 and discovered that my cup holders don’t move. Anyone know when and why they did this? I was really looking forward to that “secret” area under the cup holders. I also would just prefer them in the forward position. 

 

Did I get a bigger subwoofer or something?

 

It not a deal breaker but I’m pretty disappointed.

2016 was the start of fixed position.

Yes you can.  There are a few posts on it.

Your awesome! Thank you. I tried searching with google and all I found was people doing full bench seat conversions.
