Chevy has shown two hot Colorado ZR2 concepts at this year's SEMA show in Las Vegas. The first is the AEV Concept shown at the top of page. The AEV starts off with a new suspension setup including high-angle ball joints and increased stiffness high-angle tie rods. The truck also adds front and rear jounce shocks and a long-travel rear leaf-spring suspension. The differential gets a cover as part of the full underbody protection kit.

The ZR2 AEV also gets custom wheels and tires, a winch kit, recovery hooks, and rocks a snorkel. In back, Chevy added a refrigerator cooler and there is an air pump and more substantial jack and tire kit. Check out the video for a walk-around on this off-roader.

Wow.  I would downsize to that, but I bet it'd be so expensive that doing the modifications myself to my rig would be cheaper.

I don't hate the full Chevrolet on the front end.

Chevrolet partnered with Luke Bryan to create a fantastic “Huntin’, Fishin’ and Lovin’ Every Day” Suburban Concept. The concept is part of the Chevrolet SEMA display this year in Las Vegas.
Chevy says Bryan started the idea with his wish list for his ultimate outdoor vehicle, with a focus on more access to the open air. “This concept is all about maximizing the Suburban’s space and utility for a family that truly enjoys hunting, fishing and other outdoor activities,” says Todd Parker, Chevrolet Design director. “There’s plenty of room for all their gear, along with added amenities that make the journey more enjoyable.”
Aside from the bling-bling wheels and roof rack, the first things that caught our attention were the removable rear side glass panels. In combination with the open tailgate glass and the custom rear-facing, third-row seats the back of this ‘Burban looks like a great place to ride out to a favorite spot.

“Chevy has been part of our family and a part of our work life on the farm for as long as I can remember,” says Bryan. “If you were a Bryan, you drove a Chevy — and I’m a longtime Suburban owner. This partnership is a natural fit for me and this unique Suburban represents everything I and my family want for our outdoor adventures.”

The modifications to the truck include:
Chevrolet Accessories mesh grille (custom finish)
Chevrolet Accessories black tubular assist steps

Is there anything more bad-ass than a dually with low profile tires? Maybe one with a 6.2-liter Duramax diesel engine cranking 910 lb-ft of torque, a fire suppression system, and other supporting equipment, including AMKUS Rescue Equipment.

As part of the SEMA show celebration, Chevy created this one-off Silverado 3500HD Safari Safety concept vehicle. The idea is this is a truck that would run out onto the track in case of a crash and save lives and do track prep work. Chevy developed it in association with NHRA Safety Safari . A group that has evolved into the sanctioning body’s first-line safety team for the NHRA Mello Yellow series.
The truck has a long list of specialized equipment beyond the usual list of 3500HD truck content, including:
Fire suppression equipment with nitrogen cylinder and 80-gallon tank
Bed-mounted aluminum frame with extendable mast
Whelen red and green LED strobes and additional lighting
Incident support equipment including shovels, brooms, fire extinguishers, jacks, car dolly and oil absorbent material
      AMKUS Rescue Equipment System
2018 Silverado Midnight Edition elements, including a black exterior, black bumpers, power-adjustable and heated trailering mirrors and a black mesh grille with chrome bars (Midnight Edition offered on Silverado 1500 and 2500HD production models)
22-inch black wheels with 305/45LT22 tires.

As the seasons change and October hits wall calendar, many americans shift attention to major holidays coming up before the end of the year. Automotive enthusiasts, however, start to think of something else that happens this time of year. SEMA.
The Specialty Equipment Manufacturing Association again plays host to the largest automotive aftermarket trade show in the world, October 31st, through November 2nd, 2017. Yeah, that's next week. The SEMA Show, or just "SEMA" as many call it, is only held once a year at the Las Vegas Convention Center and is arguably the most important trade show in the automotive world.
The show is a literal playground for anyone who finds excitement in staring at built up vehicles and new accessories. Unfortunately, it's also not open to the public and attendees must prove affiliation to an industry related business to be able to attend.

Thankfully for you, GM-Trucks.com will have three people on the ground finding all the coolest GM related truck stuff. Myself, @Josh and @Chris will report live from the show floor Tuesday October 31st and Wednesday November 1st . We'll report on everything Chevrolet Performance debuts, every concept vehicle GM develops, and tons of photography of built-up pickups that you're going to drool over.
We're also planning on live streaming from the show floor via Facebook. Make sure to follow GM-Trucks.com on Facebook get updates and watch our streams live.
We'll have more details and reports Monday night as we live post the Chevrolet Performance Press Conference.
In the meantime, check out what Chevrolet's already announced for this year's show and some photos from years past.

Just in time for the annual SEMA aftermarket show in Las Vegas, Chevy has dropped two great-looking special edition Colorados. The ZR2 is already styled differently than other Colorado trims with a more aggressive hood and grille as well as modified front and rear bumpers for added off-road clearance. These two new special editions take the looks up a notch.

The 2018 Colorado ZR2 Midnight Edition is painted all-black,  and also has black Chevy bowtie emblems and custom 17-inch five-spoke black wheels - including the spare. There is also a black sport bar with off-road LED lighting and sport-bar sail panels, which bring back the Avalanche look in a way.

The ZR2 Dusk Edition offers the same features as the ZR2 Midnight, but isn’t black. It can be purchased in any other ZR2 exterior finish, but the black accents remain. The ZR2 Dusk Edition show in our images is Summit White with the available 2.8L Duramax turbo-diesel and the diesel-exclusive Performance Cold Air Intake.

“The Colorado ZR2 Midnight and Dusk Edition models offer customers even more personalization choices from the only company with three distinct trucks: midsize, full-size and full-size heavy-duty,” said Jim Campbell, U.S. vice president, Truck Strategy, Performance Vehicles and Motorsports. “Chevrolet offers more choices because the truck market is too diverse for a ‘one size fits most’ strategy.” Chevy has not said when the new trucks will be available, but we suspect late Fall.
