I have a 2017 2500 HD. 20in Wheels, stock tires, and height wise, my truck fix into a standard 2 car garage just fine.  I will add that there's not but about an inch and a half to 2-inch worth of clearance so if you went with larger tires and larger Wheels I doubt that it would fit a standard garage door

So I currently have a  2016 double cab 4x4 midnite addition with level kit with 285/50r/22 and Im looking into a 2500 hd.  I love being able to put my truck in the garage and am curious of height difference between 2 trucks.  Anyone possibly know the difference?

According to GM, the 2500HD is about 78" tall in 4x4 config. It should easily fit in any 7ft tall garage door.

WTF..Just measured from floor to top of header 6 and 7/8

Six feet and 7/8ths of an inch? or maybe 6 feet and 7 or 8 inches? Still pretty low. Mine fits in standard (cheap) house.

Thanks for all the feedback.  Are the 1500 and 2500 double cab with standard bed same length?

1500 dc is only available with the 6.5' box.

2500 dc is available with either the 6.5' or 8'

1500 std box - 229.5"

2500 std box - 230"

2500 long box - 248.9"

1500 crew with the short box and 1500 dc have the same length 229.5" and wheelbase 143.5"

in GM lingo

short box is the 5'8" box

standard box is the 6.5' box

long box is the 8 ft box.

So....2500 crew is not available with a short box (at least not in GM lingo)

1500 crew is available with short box or standard box.

2500 crew is available with standard box or long box.

1500 crew short = 229.5"

1500 and 2500 crew with standard = 239.5"

2500 crew with long = 258.4"

And a 1500 crew with the short (5'8"box) is the same wheelbase and OAL as the 1500 DC standard (6'6" box)

In early 2000's when 1500 crew was developed, part of criteria was to fit in same garage space as the ext cab 6'6" - which was the most popular pickup version at the time.  OAL and wheelbase of the 2 are identical.

Many home garages can fit a crew cab short but not a crew cab standard.
