2003 Silverado 2500 6.0 Check engine light flashing

2005bandit

Question

I have a 2003 Silverado 2500, 6.0 and The check engine light comes on and starts flashing right after I start it. I have replaced the plugs and wires and it did not change anything.

If I drive down the road and keep the throttle steady with no load on it the light goes off. If I accelerate it comes back on. I get the P0300 code on my code reader. I can tell that it runs rough when the light is on.

It seems that if I keep it below 2000 RPM,s going down the road it stays off. Any help is appreciated.

Could be a possible lean condition due to either a plugged fuel filter, or failing fuel pump or controls or wiring to it. Sometimes that failure won't throw o2 or lean codes.

Need more info though. Live scan data, or freeze frame data would be extremely helpful.
