4.3l vortec hesitating under acceleration

4.3l vortec hesitating when I accelerate it runs fine when I'm driving around town but when I get on it that's when it starts anyone ever have the same problem I have been trying to figure out what it is for over a year now

That's usually ignition.  Get yourself a Tech2 and find out the problem in minutes.  In the meantime, check your coils, plugs and wires and what code is causing your CEL to come on?

My check engine light always stays on it's straight piped but the truck was doing it before I got it straight piped. I had a hole in my converter and figured that's what was causing it but that didn't fix a thing and I replaced my plugs and wires a couple months back but I'll see if I can't get a tech2 and hook it up where can I get one at can I rent one from an auto parts store or can they hook one up to my vehicle for me??

Check your fuel pressure

You'll need a tune to turn off the downstream O2 sensors.  The Tech2 is GMs diagnostic scan tool from 1996-2013.  You either know someone with one or go buy one, prices have come way down now that GM has moved to a different system for the newer cars.
