Headers vs catback

Recommended Posts

Hey.   So i have a 2014 gmc 1500.   I put cold air intake on it and had it tuned time for new exhaust.     But not sure if i want to go with headers and highflow cats and some flow masters.  Or if i should save a few bucks and just do cat back exhaust 1 in two out .    Yes def sounds better with headers.   But. Im wanting some hp too.    Is the gains gonna be worth the money to run true duel with headers.  Or will jist cat back open it up enough.  Any feed back would be great  thanks.

True dual exhaust is not always going to give an increase power. You may get higher peak HP numbers at WOT, but you can easily lose low-end and mid-range TQ because the lack of necessary back pressure. This result in worse overall performance.

In my opinion, headers would be the most bang for the buck BUT I hear they could VOID your powertrain warranty if you still have one.
