I might have to wait till the spring now.  We had snow on Saturday and it's 22F right now

That's right it's winter ain't it lol. Forgot other places other than California have actual winters.

I use an all natural chamois. Sometimes if I'm crunched for time I'll blow off all of the excess with my leaf blower and use the chamois on the rest. But as mentioned if you keep a good coat of wax on your truck that will help as well and generally make the task of drying much easier.

You need to try Optimum "No Rinse", you will not be disappointed. It's a sure way to avoid water spots. You can even add an ounce with your current soap to help the water sheet off your panels better so you don't have too many water spots.

I'll let you know if it ever stops raining lol

 

I just use big drying towel to mostly push off the heavy stuff then new unused yellow soft tack cloth to get the tiny spots.

 

But make sure you have it waxed good.
