4x4 issues

I have a 97 gmc sierra 4x4 non push button 4x4. Four wheel drive went out so I changed the axle actuator. Still nothing. Checked the fuse and it was blown. Replaced it and it blew again immediately. What's wrong?

Probably a bad ground somewhere.  Sounds like a bad connection or incorrect connection.

Is it the floor shifter type?

or a wire is shorting out somewhere.

If it's blowing fuses, that's probably a good place to start looking...

It is a floor shift.
