Center Cap issue

I recently put my 16” steel winter rims on my truck and I have the 6 bolt Center caps that go on the rims and i have run into an issue where the plastic nuts screw onto the wheel lugs all the way but the cap is still loose and moves around because the rim is to deep. Anyone know of anything that would solve this issue other than removing the Center caps ? I know the caps aren’t going to fall off but it’s just annoying having the Center caps loose and not tight against the rim. Thanks.
