2007 Silverado Single Cab Speaker Popping

Recommended Posts

This must be a Chevrolet thing...

When I turn the key to start my truck, my speakers pop.  Every time no matter what.

Also when I plug in a phone charger in either of the two 12V ports on the dash, my radio cuts out and the speakers pop like crazy.

Any idea what I should check to resolve this?  The popping is quite loud

The radio low level signal drain wires may be too long.

Check the bare wire at this connector and see if it is touching other terminals.

if it is just pull it back and take the excess with electrical tape.

It is located under the floor console cup holders.

Fixed so many of these I have lost count.

Does that apply to a single cab? I’m not familiar with the floor console you speak of.

I only have the fold down arm rest with the middle storage under the seat. Is that where you are referring to?

can you look at your RPO codes (in the glove box) and tell me if you have UQA or UQS?

Only codes I see beginning with letter U are: UE1 UJ6 UK3 UQ3 US8 U2K

Ok this wouldn't apply to your vehicle then. Check the wires going into the back of the radio. That is where your problem is more than likely terminal 11 at the back of the radio.
