20" wheels with snow chain/Security Chain brand

Recommended Posts

I've been researching this and can't seem to find any definitive answers.  The manual clearly states not to use chains on the 20" wheels because of possible clearance issues but Amazon sells these chains that say they'll fit 275/55/20:  https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001DKV960/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Has anyone had success running chains on the 20" wheel without tearing up their truck?

Sorry if this is a repeat but it's frustrating that GMC would sell a truck with tires that you can't run chains on....?!

thanks!

there are lots of vehicles that you cannot run traditional chains or cables on.  My wife's VW Passat is one of them.  After a lot research we purchased AutoSocks for her car.  Now that we've had them & used them several times, we'll never buy regular chains again. http://autosock.us/

They fit great, super easy to install and remove,  roll super smooth and work as well if not better than normal chains.  The only problem with them is that they roll so smooth we have to really pay attention to speed.  Still don't want to drive more the 35-40 mph with them on but its real easy to do because they're so smooth.
