How much offset would I need ?

Hey guys I am going to buying rims and tires soon and would like some help. I have looked online and it seems like some offsets are way different in some pictures then others. I am hoping to fill up my fender flares. The tire shop said a -12 with a 285 55 20 would clear and fill the flares up. But after looking online the -12 doesn’t look like it sticks out much past the wheel well?

With 275/65/18 on 18x9 wheels with +12 offset on my ‘08 the tires were flush with the body. With -12 offset and 285s your tires will be about 1-1/4” past the body. You may have fender clearance issues with that setup though. My truck had a 2” level and the tires rubbed the fender liners at the back of the fenders.

Ok thanks for the reply. I am thinking that I would have to go with a 0 offset and 10 inch wide rims. What’s the max you guys are fitting with out rubbing with 0 offset And t bars raised ?

I found this wheel offset calculator when a friend was looking at new wheels. It was helpful to know where the wheel would end up relative to the suspension too.
