Program remote fob with no door lock switch

My 2006 silverado has no lock switch button on  the door just the sliding tabs. But all programming instructions require hold the lock switch to enter program mode. I am at a loss.

Are you sure you have power locks then?  Because those switches go with power locks...  And no power locks means nothing for the fob to activate...

I absolutely have power locks. The doors self unlock with the key and the truck had a fob. The previous owner lost it. I just don't know how to program any new fob.

And believe me its not from lack of research!

What do you mean by "doors self unlock with the key"?

Is there a lock on the passenger door that you can use the key with?

 

Because having the electric switches on the armrest is part of having power locks (at least as far as I know).

 

Maybe you have to go to the dealer to program the truck to the fob.
