Drive by Wire? What years offered it?

Recommended Posts

I believe 2003 was the first year for electronic throttle on the trucks.

I have Traction Control... I am sure now that is one way to get "DBW"

When Traction Control kicks in it is easier for the PCM to shut down the throttle blade then to start pulling timing and feul to accomplish the same thing. The latter requires much more intelligence.

The GM diesels have been throttle-by-wire since 1994. Kinda strange to think the Corvette inherited technology fom the 6.5TD now isn't it?

Don't any of you closet diesel heads go crazy on me, I know diesels don't have throttles, but the general public glazes over when you start talking about percentage of accelerator application.
