4.3L firing order

i have a 4.3L V6 with vortec heads, i think the block is out of a 2000 GMC 1500. edelbrock intake and 600 cfm carb. (no computer/fuel injection). i an installing it i a mazda pick up. i am having some firing problems so i need to verify my set up. i have a mallory unilite dist. with coil and i have 12 volts in. my plugs go 1-6-5-4-3-2.....1-3-5 on right bank looking at (or drivers side) and 2-4-6 on left bank (front to back). is this a good set up???

Sounds right to me...

That is the correct firing order, No. 1 on the distributor is facing toward the front of the engine and a little to the right bank (pass. side)
