Recommended Posts

Somewhere on this forum you'll find pictures, I believe, and step by step directions on how to do the diffy change. Your differential fluid may already be synthetic (my '04 Silverado 1500 comes with synthetic from the factory).

does the same fluid go in the tranfer case as the rear?

NO,Depending on what transfer case you have it takes different fluid,If you have the manual transfer case it takes manual transmission fluid,If you have the automatic transfer case it takes the "AutoTrac II" fluid.

DO NOT USE ANYTHING but the "AutoTrac II" fluid if you have the automatic transfer case.
