Best Deal/price For Remote Start

I'll start by saying I just bought a Tom-Tom 3rd edition gps for $149 at radio shack.

 

I'm wondering what the absolute best deal is on a remote start for my 2007 Sierra SLE with the 5.3L?

Well as long as you have the "remote start prep package",which is RPO code AP8,I'd go with the factory add-on GM remote start system,Its part#17801236 and list for $195.00.

You do have to have your dealer program it for you but hopefully they won't charge much to do it for you.

 

Remember though....You do have to have RPO code "AP8" to add the GM system,If not then you'll have to go with an aftermarket system.

I just went out and checked. I do have the RPO "code" AP8. The Vin is #2GTEK133771615607

 

So hopefully for $195 I can get the remote start, and then how hard of a time is it to install? I'll need another FOB as mine doesn't have the button for remote start though, plus programming..

The FOBs are what you are buying, everything else is already there. Just have your dealer install it, they did mine pre-delivery for about $250 total. You need them to do the coding anyway.

Thanks for the info I learned a few things about the truck that I hadn't realized yet.

 

I'll have to call the dealer and see if $250 out the door is reasonable. That would be nice.

I'm new to the site, this is my first post. I've found a lot of GREAT information on here. I'd like to find out if I can get the factory remote start installed. How do I get my build sheet to find out if I can? Are the build codes on the truck somewhere? 2008 Silverado LT
