Driver Door Lock
travis73 replied to SilveradoSaver's topic in 2014-2018 Silverado & Sierra Troubleshooting
Mine just started doing the exact same thing yesterday, in the past I have always been able to lock the door with the drivers door switch, now I can only unlock. -
I honestly loved the 3.6L engine, it was very smooth and quiet and it had almost as much get up and go as my 5.3L does, as for milage it was better if I was just jigging arround but the 5.3L gets better highway milage. The Ram was a good truck, it just lacked rear suspension, and the front suspension was terribly rough, it was an enginering problem because my truck had the same suspension under it as a full size truck with a hemi, and since the pentestar sat so far back and was so much lighter it made the front end over sprung, basically the worst riding pick up I've ever owned.

It's a 5.3L with 342 gears, I chose this engine because I had a similar set up in my 2011 GMC Sierra and loved the way it worked, also I am not a fan of the 4.3L engine. The Ram I am comparing it to was my 2015, it was a reg cab short box too, it had the 3.6L pentastar engine with 355 gears.

Hi all, so in 2015 after many years of owning all GM vehicles I decided to try something different so I bought a Ram, It was an ok truck but boy am I glad to be back in a GM. Here is my new 2018 GMC.

High Mileage AFM 5.3
travis73 replied to JaBradt85's topic in Hybrids, XFE, & Active Fuel Management
I have a 2011 5.3, I use it for work (Meter Reader), I do have the AFM dissabled, I currently have 114k on the truck but the motor has really high hours on it, I am at 4450 hours on the motor now, I change the oil at 5k intervals and is not using a drop to this day and is still running really strong.I hope to use this truck for 2 more years at which point it will have close to 250k on it and well over 8 thousand hours, should be intresting to see how it is running then or if it even makes it that far.As it is right now the engine has more hours on it than an average daily driver would at 300k. It seems to be a very durable engine. -

Is your truck a short box,I've never seen an ext cab with a short box,it actually looks really good.

travis73 replied to kstruckcountry's topic in Transmission, Suspension, Transfer Case, & Axles
mine does it too, seems to be more so when it is cold, can't figure it out but it drives me crazy, only happens when the suspension is flexing alot. -
