Small update. Chevy finally gave the go ahead to replace the engine ( I thought they already had done that) two months after I dropped the truck off. They requested the dealer to tear down the motor just last week to look further into it. Why did that have to take nearly two months?! The service writer seems to be just as frustrated as me with the way Chevy operates with this warranty work. So we will see how many more months it will take to actually get the engine in and the truck back! Ok rant over.

That sounds pretty crappy Texas Toast, I feel your pain. I just got off the phone with GM customer service asking me if I have heard back from my dealer with any new info (I haven't since I contacted GM). They will be replacing the engine, but are waiting on authorization to order it. The auto workers strike is also making it more difficult. I fear we will be without our trucks for a long time.

So, my Silverado is a 2022 6.2 with about 21,000 miles and has been at the dealership for 1 month now. The motor started making all kinds of noise that I thought was the lifter fail, but after watching too many videos on youtube I suspect it has spun a rod bearing[s]. Dealer tells me it will be covered but is still waiting on GM to authorize repair or complete replacement of the engine. Pretty bummed out and don't feel optimistic that I will get the truck back anytime soon. At least they gave me a brand new truck as a loaner lol!
