  1. Never a good idea to simply replace the batteries in the sensors. Ideally it is best to replace those things every 3-4 years when you end up getting new tires. In many cases, when tires are taken off of the rims, the sensors will be jarred and damaged. It is just the way that most of them are designed. Most tire shops have what they call "rebuild/replacement" kits and strongly urge the customers to go with that when they do get new tires, to prevent the customer from having to come back several months or a year later down the road due to TPS failure.
  2. Actually GM has one of the best TPM systems out there compared to the other auto makers. The batteries will go out after 3-4 years. Expect that to happen.
  3. In addition, I am not 100% certain in the case of the GM Trucks and cars, but I know for certain that in many of the Asian vehicles, there is a TPSM in the spare tire and that is often the cause for the light coming on.
  4. Folks- These little batteries in the sensors, and the sensors themselves will last at best 3 years in most cases. Many times, the sensors are broken when tires are replaced, not really a way around that, which is why it's a good rule of thumb to have the sensors replaced/rebuilt every time you get new tires.
  5. Even the 6.2L. Remember, the new 4.3, 5.3, and 6.2L are completely new engines, new blocks, and what not, redesigned for direct injection.
  6. All engines including for the HDs will have aluminum blocks. Nothing to worry about.
  7. 3 out of 4 of mine failed under warranty. Wouldn't you know it, that last one (drivers side rear door) started going out earlier this year. Out of warranty 08 with 58,000 miles And I did ask nicely if the dealership would replace that last one under warranty when I was having the others addressed, but they said they can't if it is working at that time
