  1. Just bought me a 2021 Sierra 1500 and would like a locking fuel door but no one has one. Had one for my 17 sierra. And like other people said not concerned thieves it the vandalism
  2. 1. Full size 1500 5’ 8” Box 2. The low profile design will flow with clean nice looks of my Sierra 3. Will help protect the load and keep it secure 4. No 5. Mostly for to and from work, but need a cover to keeps things secure and dry when going on vacation
  3. Must be a GMC the silverado makes me want to puke, too ugly and looks foreign. Also I went from a 2014 Z71LTZ silverado to a 2017 Z71SLT sierra love this truck much better. Also the 17 with 3.42 gear and 8 speed trans walks all over the 14 which had 3.08 gears and only the 6 speed.
  4. Trust me, it's the winter blend plus cold temps. I've had my 2014 crew 4X4 5.3 with 3.08's since July 13, the two summers I've had it I got 20+ MPG all day long, last winter I was lucky to make 18MPG, now that it is getting cold again I'm back to 18MPG. Use Mobil gas on a regular basis 87 octane, ran several full tanks of 93 octane with no MPG improvement so save you money.
  5. I agree, the V4 mode is shifting off because the motor is lugging. if you pay attention to the instant gas mileage when go from V4 to V8 it doesn't change. If you are concerned about not running in V4 mode long enough turn on the tow haul mode it stays in V4 a lot longer. In the process of running a full tank in tow haul mode, so far haven't seen any difference in MPG.
  6. I heard a rumor last fall that it was coming out, also heard that GM worked with Dodge on this along with the turbo diesel V6 that Dodge currently offers.
  7. Doing some detailing today on my 2014 silverado I bought last July, noticed the dealer installed running boards are showing signs of rust. Anyone seeing this issue yet? Not what I would expect to see after spending $50 K on this.
  8. my service tech told me it is just the cam adjusting from V4 to V8. I don't think it's a reliability issue, just a major annoyance when it is hot out and you have the windows down.
  9. Here's what I posted on Feb 1, I still believe it's the cold weather. Last 3 fill ups I've gone back to E85 and getting 14MPG+, compared to the 16MPG I was getting on gas. I think I'll stay on E85 until the weather breaks.
  10. Seen a lot of talk on here about MPG going south after the recall update, i noticed the same thing but after thinking about this some more maybe its just more of the cold weather bad MPG. I got my recall done early January about the same time as the temps have really falling off in most of the country. I drive the same drive everyday one way to work 15 miles. In the summer months I was getting 20 MPG all the time, once the colder fall months came around I was is getting about 18 MPG, now since it has been colder than hell (beginning of January) I'm only getting 16 MPG. Also with the temp never going above 20 around here for the last month, on my 15 mile trip the water temp won't hit the 210' mark until I am almost to the end of the trip. I really think the crappy MPG is just due to the extreme cold.
  11. bought my truck in July and was getting 19-20MPG all the time, now that the temp hasn't gone above 30'F here in over a month and can't do any better than 15-16MPG (same driving habits same trips back and forth to work even with out the 4X4). Also tried premium fuel in the summer months and my MPG didn't change any. bought my truck in July and was getting 19-20MPG all the time, now that the temp hasn't gone above 30'F here in over a month and can't do any better than 15-16MPG (same driving habits same trips back and forth to work even with out the 4X4). 12. Just took my truck in yesterday for my first oil change and tire rotation and found out one of the lug nuts wouldn't come off, also took it in because of the rear power sliding window regulator broke like i see so many in this post, have to wait for parts for window. Has any one notice when your 5.3 motor goes from V4 to V8 you can hear a very faint squeak noise? When I first heard the noise I thought it might be an exhaust hanger but as I heard it several more times while starting to accelerate I noticed it was the changing from V4 to V8 mode.
  13. i have 1300 miles on my 4X4 LTZ Z71 5.3L, i have a 15 mile highway drive to work with a stop about every 2 miles i drive, if I baby it I get over 20MPG. The DIC has an MPG readout for every 25, 50, or 400 with your average and best mileage reading, my best 25 miles MPG is over 26, don't know how this figures but it sure sounds good. Use to have an 09 Acadia which i never got anything better than 21MPG highway.
