  1. Same noise here - Sierra AT w/Z71 (Rancho Shocks). Finally took it in to the dealer. They had it for two days - said it was a loose piece of plastic on one of the shocks. When asked why it only happened in V4 mode, or when switching from V4->V8 or vice versa, they said it was the resonance of the exhaust causing the plastic on the shocks to vibrate and make the noise. Two new shocks later, same damn noise. I'll be bringing it back next week.
  2. Anybody have any good pics of a 2014 with the 4" dealer installed bars? I'm also intrigued by the AMP retractable bars - has anyone actually installed them on their 2014? Please share your installation experience and impressions, if you would!
  3. I ordered my SLT All-terrain double cab last week. Stopped at the dealer to show my wife an example, she's since convinced me to get step bars. Now, I know you can get aftermarket bars for half what the dealer charges; but after reading of your problems with the Raptor bars, I'm thinking maybe I should go for the GM dealer installed in spite of the additional cost. Does anybody have the 4" chrome GM bars? Thoughts? Pics? I'm also wondering if they'll let me just buy the things and install them myself, to save a few $$ (and because I have an inherent distrust of dealer techs).
  4. RHTSooner & 07-Z71 - thanks for the great pics and info! I just placed my own order for a double cab SLT AT w/chrome bumpers in Iridium. Now i find myself agonizing over whether i should have gone for the body colored bumpers. As you've each had yours for a little while, I wanted to ask your thoughts. RHT - any regrets on getting the chrome bumpers over the body color? 7Z71 - any regrets on getting the body colored bumpers over the chrome? If you had it to do over, would you do it differently?
  5. BringTheRain - I see you're also in PA. If I may ask, is yours a double-cab?
  6. Hi everybody - BobbyD here! New to the forum! So I've got a private offer from my GM card that will allow me to redeem $3k points on a 2014 Sierra 1500, which I just happened to be shopping for anyway. The condition is, I have to take delivery by 10/31. The problem is that the particular configuration I'm looking for is nowhere to be found within 5000 miles of my zip code (yup, five-thousand miles); so I'm faced with ordering one. I've got one dealer, that I like a lot, who is saying that while anything is possible, most likely it'll be 8-10 weeks. Also, they often have no idea when the truck is going to arrive until the day before or even the day of. Another dealer is telling me 6-8 weeks; and not only that, they're saying that when they get the VIN two weeks before the truck arrives, they can write up the paperwork as sold and ding the GM card points then. When asked how they could get the truck faster than another dealer that had quoted 8-10 weeks, they said some stuff about "allocations" and "volume" and "they sell a lot of trucks". I was also told that when a new truck order is sent in as "sold", that the factory often moves that one up in the build queue. Can anybody tell me if this second dealer is blowing smoke? Can one dealer really get orders faster than another? My build: 2014 GMC Sierra 1500 SLT 4wd double-cab Iridium Metallic All-terrain package w/chrome bumpers 3.42 axle ratio 20" machined aluminum rims ps - apologies to the mods, I had originally started to new topic with this; moved it here, going to delete the other
