  1. Hey, this is my dads truck. He said he has a check engine light and he had them read the service code and they said it was due to this. He doesnt know what part they quoted bur the part was $350 not including labor. I assume it was a new filler neck. Anyway, is there a way to fix just this? Is it an internal flapper? Or the one on the outside that is visible? Do you need to replace the whole filler neck to fix this? I see a couple different options on gmpartscenter.com Fuel Tank Filler Pipe - GM (84695974) Fuel Tank Filler Pipe - GM (84695986) His truck is a 2017 Silverado 2500 LT 6.0 2wd Club Cab, 6.6ft bed. Thanks!
  2. I'll have to look when I get home from travel. I remember looking at the numbers on time and it was around 12500 tow capacity on sticker. I was so far above trailer I didn't care to go further. 6.2 with 3.42 rear end and 10 speed handles it no problem. Transmission cooler in the max tow trucks helps a lot when in stop and go. For what it's worth I use to pull this same trailer with a 2014 5.3 z71 gmc, 6sp with airbags It pulled it safely but it would grunt a lot going uphill and passing was next to impossible. With the husky hitch on it I have towed through 25mph crosswinds with no sway. That's not to say it was pleasant, but with the D rated 33" BFGs I have on it, the trailer and truck stayed solidly planted. I have done 5 hour tows with this rig. Worst part of it is the ridiculously small 23 gallon gas tank and poor towing fuel economy. If I go 60 with no wind at all I can do 10-12 on flat ground. 65 in a headwind will take it to 7mpg. On average I'll do about 8 because the wind is never not blowing on the Texas gulf coast. But I doubt a 2500 gasser is gonna do much better. And it will do much worse the rest of the time. I can do 20mpg pretty consistently while empty on highway. The manual says premium recommended. I usually run regular and put in a can of octane booster or run mid grade 89. I've towed with 89 and couldn't really tell a difference from 93 but usually I will use 93 when towing. Lots of people on this forum will go apeshit over this, but I say F it. I have a good powetrain warranty
  3. It's a short bed, 5'7" I think it looks better on half ton. These T1 beds have way more room in them than the K2s. If u ever plan on getting a 5th wheel I would get a 6.5' bed. Not sure what u mean on payload numbers. The trailer is just under 6k lbs. Probably closer to 7k loaded up. I'll put a couple hundred in bed too. It has a 700lb tongue weight, so I run a load distributing hitch. I have a 2" level in front and 1.5 block in rear. When I put 50psi in the bags, the truck and trailer sit perfectly level.
  4. I have a 2019 6.2 max tow 4x4 with 10 speed. Have a 5609lb dry travel trailer. This truck pulls it without reservation. At almost 13000lb tow rating it also leaves more than enough margin. I did add airbags and a WD hitch to smooth out any bounce. The WD hitch would also be needed on a 2500 for control, but likely not the bags. Overall I'm very happy with it over a 6.6L 2500.
  5. I figured it out. Super easy to get through the firewall and super easy to get a keyed accessory tap. I made a YouTube video in case it can help anyone.
  6. Yup. It came with some lame p metric Goodyears. I've been looking at that new Recon Grappler from Nitto in XL rating. I loved the ride of my Trail Grapplers but they just looked boring. I agree about most tires being more versatile than u expect. With 4wd and a locking diff, it would have to be a nasty bog to get stuck. My brother in law has a poser 2wd jacked up with 35" mud grappler. It wasn't worth a damn out in the pasture after a rain. Mine floated through. The main thing I love about bfg kos is that I can drive through or over anything and not worry about a flat. It just laughs off the thorny mesquite brush we have. But in reality in not taking a $60k truck through hell like that. That's what we have a UTV for. So mostly it's just some light duty at Galveston Beach and pulling RV to park in sometimes muddy conditions.
  7. Also the truck is a max trailering 6.2 so it's rated at 13000 lbs. It's basically a light 3/4 ton.
  8. Thanks for all the great advice. I tow my rv probably once maybe twice a month. 200-250 miles. It has a tongue weight of about 600 lbs. Then I toss a lot of stuff in the bed too. I have a load distribution hitch and air bags to even out the ride. Usually I don't put more than 40 psi in those bags, so honestly a standard P rated tire is all their are doing the work off. I took them to 50 once and they rattled my
  9. In the K2s there were lots of folks building boxes that fit in the center console and replaced the bose sub. Has anyone looked into this or succeeded on the 2019+ models?
  10. I had swing cases on my 2014 under the soft tonneau. They worked well but were not that spacious.
  11. This is cool! Does the trailer view stay on while driving to act as a rear view mirror or do you have to select it in 5 second interval?
  12. How is the ride of the Falken compared to the bfgs? I've been eueing those for when I replace my KO2s. They are tough tires but seems kind rough to me. Even at 40 psi.
