  1. I use the compartment for my plain jane glasses, my prescription sun glasses don't fit so I bought a clip thing from the dollar store that goes on the sun visor. Never really bothered me......
  2. It amazes me how poorly GM tunes thier engines and transmissions. Now that I have tuned my trucks myself with HP tuners, it's amazing how differently my trucks feel. I feel for the op and the others that are complaining, your not crazy. It just makes me laugh that an amateur tuner like myself can fix all the issues I had with driveability in less than a month of trial and error. Yet these engineers with the best equipment and deep pockets can't figure it out.
  3. I kind of wish I didn't let the dealer rubber coat both my tucks just to see how bad this rust really is. They put a nice thick coat of it everywhere on both of my trucks so I can't complain, I just wish I could see it for myself. 4. Truck driveshafts aren't meant for the speeds you hit on a dyno. The 6l80 gives you a 1:1 in 4th, that's quite a bit of speed once you tap it out. I take it some of you have never seen a driveshaft let go on the dyno? Pretty scary stuff and it usually damages the dyno and the truck, or worse case, the poor bastard standing beside the dyno. All the tuning I've done has been on the street and the strip minus 2 times that was strapped down but I only ran in 3rd and I have 4.10s.
  5. The batteries that come on the 14s are pretty pathetic if you ask me. I live in Canada and we have had quite a few -30 and lower days now and I have had to use my booster box a lot now. I went into the dealer yesterday about this and they said they know the factory batteries suck as a few people have complained to them. I've also noticed the truck turns over for ever before it will catch when it's cold out which drives me nuts. Hopefully GM will give us an update for the cold start start problems.
  6. Mine is pretty loud and obvious that the 4wd is working when I have it engaged. Even if auto I still have the transfer case noise going on, I think it's normal. Do you have a SLT or SLE? I find when I drive my Dads SLT its much quieter than mine which is an SLE. The SLT more than likely has more sound deadening in it even though the interiors look the same.
  7. Just disconnect the tube to the box, unplug your maf, and give it a couple good tugs. It just presses into 2 rubber grommets. For some reason I always have a hard time snapping it back in though.
  8. The 20 or so hp you will pick up from the tune isn't what you will really notice. The biggest gain you get from the tune on a stock truck will be transmission tuning. Changing shift points, pressure, and playing with tq management will make biggest difference.
  9. Mine did this and I originally thought it was the torque converter slipping or kind of grabbing and letting go constantly. Since I have gotten my trinity though it seems to have gone away and I haven't touched any converter lock options yet. My guess is it's the throttle body doing something weird because as I was cruising in 6th and not changing my foot at all, I could see on my dashdaq that the throttle position was going up and down with the rpms (before tuning).
  10. You have to push the lock button again if you want to remote start it the second time. As far as distance goes, as long as you have the app installed on your phone you have limitless range for starting and locking/unlocking. If you had service on the moon it would still work.
  11. It's an absorber inside the tailgate housing down by the pivot things (don't know what they are called).
  12. I drove identical trucks with only the rim sizes being different before I bought mine. One was red with 20's and the other was black with the 18's. I really didn't notice much of a difference with the ride, I just went with the black one because.....well it was black haha. The 20's were a 920 dollar option as well so I figured I would save that and put it towards some denali 22' hybrid wheels (best rim ever). Seeing how 20's have become so popular on trucks and cars the price difference really isn't that much different. As long as you stick to a 24 and down rim, tires are pretty cheap. It all just comes down to what you want and need on your truck.
  13. My 2010 cobalt ss was a nightmare with the srs lights. It was always the little explosive thing in the passenger side seat belt tensioner that locks your belt if you crash. I replaced it 3 times and I payed for the last one as my warranty ran out. It was all over the cobalt forums and was well known to pop up. Anyways, I think there are quite a few gm cars out there now that have this issue with the passenger seat belt tensioner. It's not cheap to fix though when your warranty runs out, cost me 722 dollars installed. Ask the dealer to check the passenger seat belt tensioner and check the wires to see if the have been pinched or pulled (from being rotated).
