  1. when you say you can't get the front USB connections to work, you mean for charging? You have it plugged into the right usb connection, make sure it is all the way in. The cable is was using I had to trim the bulk head of the cable for it to go in. Try connecting into the black usb connection to the right of the green one and see if you get charging, if you don't then try a different cable.
  2. I don't think there is anything plug/wire wise to get data through the front usb ports at least for the 2014 without floor console. I don't know if anyone has tried this already but I took the usb connector from the jump seat and plugged in the 6 pin connector using the red and black for power and connected a usb cable to the black connector on the hmi and I got music playing. I moved the usb connection to the green port and nothing, only charge. I think either it is software (programming) to disable/enable the data bus or the pins for the usb connector are not connected on the circuit board within the hmi. I am tempted to open the hmi to look at how the usb connections are done. Also the blue usb connection gives display on the lcd screen.
  3. As far as connecting wires for console light and switch, I read on a post that someone connected (spliced) the wires to the cigarette lighter in the front of the console. I would need to run wire to the front so obviously i would need to get donor wire from the console harness, but does it matter what size wire. Should it be the same size or would it need a thicker size wire (gauge wise). I should have left the white/black wire intact as it would have reached the front and the black one was spliced into 2 other wires with a larger one going to the front. Thanks
  4. Ok found my answer to part of my question. The only thing I still have a question on is what is the rear dvd for? Would I be able to use it if my truck did not originally come with it, does it integrate with the radio, does it require anything else to be useful? Thanks
  5. Hello everyone. I think this was asked already but I can't seem to find the answer. What is the difference between w/Denali and w/o Denali other than price? ie. trim, features, etc... Will I benefit from getting a console that has rear DVD and what does that actually come with or do? ie. are there just jacks in the rear of the console for connecting screens, is there an actual DVD player in the rear of the console?? So I have 4 options to choose from: w/Denali and w/Rear DVD w/Denali and w/o Rear DVD w/o Denali and w/Rear DVD w/o Deanli and w/o Rear DVD Thanks to all who have contributed to this post. Looking at pulling the trigger within the next week. JC
  6. I have the same headlights. Did you guys get this resolved? The adjustments screws are in the back and they are in a bad spot. They sit right in front of the radiator support frame. So like someone mentioned, you have to take the headlights off which means you have to take the radiator top panel, plastic between bumper and grille, and the grille off to make the adjustments. I was just thinking of drilling holes through the radiator support frame to be able to adjust the headlights without all that hassle.
  7. For those with a 2.5" RC leveling kit, did it truly level the truck out or is the rear still a little higher than the front. I had one installed last Saturday but the rear measures 3/4" - 1" higher. I tried to see if maybe the shop "forgot" to install the top plate that goes on top of the strut but I can't see it. Anyone have pictures of their front strut with the top plate installed? What do you guys think, level enough?
  8. I don't know if those that are saying "vibrate" mean shaking? The video I posted shows the "shaking" I am having with mine 70+mph and wanted to know if this is what you all mean by vibrate. The video is showing an orange cup on the cup holder and I was traveling 77mph on cruise control in V8 mode, it does make it a little worse when it kicks into V4 mode. Anyways, I am working with my dealer to figure this out but the Service Manager did mention the exhaust and told him it was doing this since day 1 when it was stock. I even have one of the first recorded complaints with service 2 days before I even ordered the exhaust. One thing is that 3 tires were already replaced for being bad sometime last month. They were replaced with the same GY LS2s. They are going to try to find a truck that drives smooth as glass and try those tires so we will see what the outcome of that is. I don't expect much since there has not been much success from what I have read from some of these posts. Thanks, JC
  9. For those who have installed the power tailgate lock, does your tailgate drop harshly at the bottom? Mine start off slow then a harsh drop at the end
  10. Don't think its the flapper either, I have a cat-back on mine and it still shakes. Didn't buy the cat-back to see if it would solve it though, just bought it for the sound
  11. Thanks, yeah I need to catch up on some of these pages. Last time I remember was 70+ pages
  12. I have been following this post for a while. When I can, I will see if there are any new updates. I just wanted to know if anyone with a single cab or double cab are having these issues. From the looks of it, it only seems the ones with crew cabs are have this shaking issue with our trucks. I know there seems to be two distinct issues. A shake (think tires/wheels unbalanced) and a vibration (like the one that occurs during hard acceleration vibrating through the floor pan or something). I am experiencing both issues at the moment and the one I really care to have fixed is the shaking issue, I just hate this bouncing around the truck does at certain speeds, more so at highway speeds because of long trips.
  13. Yes that is how mine works as well. Unlock with the second push, and locks with just one push. Like others have stated, it is loud (only on lock though) I ordered mine through there too, the only thing I noticed was on the warranty information that it is not covered if purchased through ebay, amazon, or other auction sites. Kind of sucks but oh well. Not sure if you care about the warranty, just FYI
  14. Thanks ajmac, The instructions stated solid gray, but with your info I was finally able to get the lock working! Seems like the fat grey with green stripe works on the Silverado as well.
  15. Great post Moto. I wish I would have searched the forum before attempting the install. I had tapped into the 2 wires I thought were the correct ones but turns out I guess it wasn't. I tried again yesterday with another tan/yellow but still did not work. The photo below shows 1 large tan/yellow wire and 2 smaller tan/yellow wires. From what I could tell there is only 1 solid gray wire. Any guidance would be appreciated. Also, do I need both wires to be connected in order to test if it functions. I was only working with the tan/yellow wire and checking it against the green and blue wires from the lock. Thanks
