  1. 'best' is in the 55-60 range. With the big differences in temps the last couple weeks its hard to really be sure...but with this "warmer" weather (high of 5f here today!) I'm seeing around 18 at 55... I played around a bit yesterday and noticed the following. pinned at 55 on flat stretch, I get better mileage at M5 than at M6 or D... Going 55, it definitely drops into 6th when I go from M5 to M6 or D, so I'd assume that would get better mileage - not according to the DIC. Also (and this needs more experimenting) I noticed that when it did manage to drop into V4, the mileage gets worse...but if I'm in M5 it drops in much less. Over the last 100 miles, with the warmer weather/less remote starts, I've seen my around town MPG improve (on the DIC) from about 10 to just over 13...I'll take what I can get.
  2. Almost, but not quite, as perfectly seemless as my '07 Yukon. Only thing is, when paying attention on a long (9 hour) highway drive, it barely ever kicks in on mine...unlike some, I'd like it to improve my mpg. Basically had to get on a long downhill for it to kick in, on m '07 Yukon it would kick in on every flat stretch. Seems like it get back into V8 the instant I need it too...so no real complaints.
  3. I've had 4 GM's since my '99 s10 blazer...every one was set so when you turned the truck off, the radio would run until you opened the door or 10 (I believe 10) minutes elapsed and it would shut down. Same in these trucks & the remote start won't turn anything on anyways.
  4. Just put 1,200 miles on... now up to 2,300 or so total... Cruise for most of the trip varying from 74-79 so as not to peg it at any one speed for too long. 400 mile average is 15.1 - 'best' is 18.9 Questions: - How is 'best' calculated - I know at a couple points I was getting better than 18.9 for an extended time. - 15.1 at an average of 75 seems really low for a vehicle that's rated at 22 highway - I know its cold and its winter gas, but it shouldn't be knocking that many miles per gallon off, right? My '07 Yukon with 150K on it was running better milage than this truck...not the end of the world, but expected better by now.
  5. I'm under the impression that Mac's can charge through the USB... No?
  6. Why not plug the laptop into one of the USB slots? That does suck though, haven't used it yet but know there are a handful of uses I know I'll want in the summer...
  7. First time I got up to speed in my AT Sierra w/ 20" Goodyears I had vibration...2nd time I had a little less vibration. Last time I got up to speed I didn't notice any vibration. Putting 1,500 miles on over the weekend through New Years, will have plenty of time to see if I have vibration and if I do whether or not its just snow or ice in the wheel...
  8. I wasn't thrilled with my remote start heat up, but realized the vents were still closed...once I opened those up it works great... I also turn the heat way up before getting out, maybe that helps. It does an OK job getting the snow off the windshield, but not nearly as good as my '07 Yukon did My seats - they aren't nearly as warm getting after remote start, but they are warm and are TOASTY within a half a minute of getting in - this is even in the 15f below mornings we've had lately. When they get going they are hot, even the wife gets too hot with them - which is astounding. Regardless, running the remote start once and I can have it feeling like a sauna.
  9. This last tank I'm showing an average of 9.4 Taking into account remote starts, about 300 pounds of weight in the bed, crappy weather w/o 4 wheel, and driving on a lot of hills, and only 800 miles on her...I'm still feeling like it should be better than single digits.
  10. its going to break in damnit! Having not noticed it on the way back, I'm hoping I just had some ice frozen in one of the front wheels...
  11. If you like the look of the clock, you can get it while the unit is on & playing music or giving you nav voice prompts. All you have to do is touch the time display in the upper right hand corner and the screen changes to the clock... Though, on mine at least, it still shows a digital display which takes away - why have the watch face & a digital display. Oh well.
  12. '14 Sierra AT w/ 20" wheels. 670 miles now. Finally got it on the interstate saturday, cracked 70 and the front end & steering wheel vibrated quite a bit getting worse up to 80 but never went faster. The return trip yesterday was hampered by weather, but the couple times I was over 70 I didn't notice the vibrations as much - hoping the front end just needed to break in a bit. Have other issues that the dealer needs to work on, going to get it out again before I take it in to see if the vibration comes back...hopefully it doesn't come back.
  13. Sh!t. I sort of noticed this yesterday, but didn't really think a second thought about it until now...
  14. It was -10 (without wind chill ) this morning after 3 days of getting pummeled with snow...We got about 30" and up the shore they got around 42"... That being said, I'd rather have this than freezing rain. Needless to say, I ran the remote start twice this morning and it was still a bit nippy - my appreciation for the heated steering wheel is immense. I'm giving the block heater a whirl tonight - never used it on any of my vehicles, even in NoDak with -35 temps, but I think this one deserves a little pampering.
  15. I use the OnStar app a bit too, but mainly because of the novelty of starting my truck with my phone... My ramp is across from my office building and down the block, with my old truck I had to walk down the hall to conference room to get close enough, now I can do it without leaving my desk... Quicker than having to go through to the app, punch in my my pin, hit 'ok' to 'only use remote start where legal & safe' prompt (which I don't get, is remote start not legal in all states?)... Just easier, though not as cool, to use the fob. Best use I know of for the app is when you're flying back home in the winter and you can start your truck from the tarmac or terminal.
