  1. Yup. My frame is showing way more rust and peeling than I feel it should after only one Michigan winter, always being washed and in a heated garage at night......here's a couple photos. 2014 Silverado Double Cab.
  2. Same issue here. Mine are clean and clear. Go off randomly. The truck is going in for another issue today, will have them look at replacing the sensors. Mine started after the first drive through car wash I went through had an underbody wash.
  3. I also like to know the "how & why" of an issue like this but I'm sure it's just quality swings in the plastic.
  4. Not really sure what your point is exactly but I appreciate your input. I'm pretty sure in 20 years when I buy a product and it's defective I'll be disappointed that it has that defect to some extent at least. Big defect or small, hugely disappointed or just a little. Or it will be as advertised and I'll be happy! I hope the day never comes when if I purchase something and don't think it was a fair trade I don't stand up for myself and my hard earned money.
  5. My dealer is going to fix it. Those of you who think we should just be ok with the problem that's just your opinion. My 2012 f250 never had an issue and neither did my 2013 wrangler. Nothing wrong with expecting a product to come as advertised. My dealer said if I'm not happy with it after it's fixed then new truck for me. They also talked to their GM rep and a buy back may be possible as well.
  6. Best question might be why did I buy GM? My 2012 Powerstroke never gave me a single issue. I think If this had happened at 10k miles instead of 250, I'd be much much less irritated.
  7. Mines pretty bad, worse than the other pics I've seen and worse than my pics show. If they replace it and there's an issue again then I'll sell the truck and buy a Ford or Toyota if they won't replace it.
  8. I think dash pads are ugly and for $45,000 I expect to get a quality product. As for if it happens again, the GM at the dealership said if there are any issues with the truck after my new dash is installed they will replace the truck or give me a refund. And now the parking sensors don't work and the mirrors are frozen open.
  9. Just talked to my dealer who has one of the largest and nicest service departments in the State. They talked directly to the guys at GM. They are aware of the issue. The problem is NOT with the small plastic piece at the front with the de-frost vents. It's with the whole dashboard unit (the soft touch piece). Only solution is to rip everything out and replace the whole dash....It's driving me crazy and I'm gonna have them do it. Mine is the worst I've seen from all the other pics I've seen so If you guys can live with it by all means that's my recommendation. Otherwise your dealer should replace the whole dash under warranty. Wish me luck.......this could get ugly.
  10. I know it sounds silly but It really bothers me. Right in my line of sight when driving. Would bother me much less if it was something that I couldn't see while driving. This is the first new vehicle I've ever bought that has had an issue this quick. I didn't take a loan, I paid cash so yeah I think if I'm not happy or satisfied it's not unreasonable to return it and go another route. When you pay $40k + out of your own pocket I think it's OK to be disappointed when pieces of plastic start breaking two days after you drive it out of the showroom.
  11. Oh they'll take it back alright. I've got consumer protection laws on my side. Doesn't matter if it's a $6.00 item at Walmart or a $50,000 dollar vehicle. Plus the dealership is really good to deal with in general. I think if they can't fix it they will do the right thing.
  12. Couldn't even drive my truck anymore it was bothering me so much. Was supposed to drop it off tomorrow morning but instead just took it in a little bit ago. Not sure what I'm going to do if they can't fix it. Hopefully they'll let me return it. I don't mean to sound dramatic but I'd rather not have it then have a defect staring me in the face like that. I should know more tomorrow.
