  1. Helms manuals are a complete service manual set in the respect that a dealer would use it in troubleshooting and repair. You are not lacking in any regard. They are leaps and bounds above any Chilton or Haynes manual and worth the coin
  2. Having come from a Tundra V8 4.6L with 310HP, I really do not notice any difference or felt I gave up anything with my 2014 4.3L V6 Silverado. It gets up and goes just as much as my Tundra ever did and has the same utility. While "Bigger is Better", it has to be put in perspective of what one needs or expect out of their truck.
  3. Agreed, that is why I purchased my WT versus higher end model even though I could afford it. The standard features on my WT with convenience package would be consider a high optioned truck compared to 20 plus years ago. The higher end trim and option packages are niceties and not necessities plus it is less crap to have and break.
  4. Next time you do a fill-up, you may want to do a manual calculation and not trust the DIC reading. Many to include myself, have noticed the DIC MPG reporting to overstate by about 1 MPG higher than what it actually manually calculates out to.
  5. Unless something is new with these Alternators, it is a voltage regulator circuitry that adjusts the voltage output up and down as needed and is not a physical on/off relay. I think your dealer either did not know and/or was trying to simplify an explanation to you albeit incorrectly.
  6. I got the 1WT and 4.3 V6 also. It does not show when it is in V4 mode on these base clusters.
  7. Just did my first oil change at 5000. Anybody that is thinking about it, may want to invest in a Fumoto quick drain or ez-drain valve to replace the fill plug. The oil stream comes out and hits the the sway bar and fans oil out everywhere for a few seconds. Oil filter not to bad but you need to stick rags inside the cavity hole or oil will splash and drip inside the skid plate area when removing the filter. Not the worst oil change experience but not the best one either.
  8. It is 4 scheduled service events maximum in 2 years/24K miles, not necessarily 4 oil changes. At a 7.5K scheduled service interval, you really only in theory will get 3 oil changes unless you are running a severe service that the OLM picks up and degrades your oil quicker to get you to 4 oil changes.
  9. If you are looking for "closer", kinda helps to post where that is or update your profile to list your location.
  10. Since you went to pick it up, what were the dealers findings in relation to your claim?
  11. That issue is any truck brand and freezing rain accumulation in that area. The only thing I miss from my Tundra was the cold weather package on that truck had a windshield with a heating element on the lower portion where the wiper blades met, to help with wipers being unstuck until full heated defrost kicked in.
  12. Looking like a "geezer" because the DRL's are on, seriously? It is not the1980's anymore and there is probably a few million vehicles of various makes and models with active DRL's on the road. It's common enough to see on the roads that if anybody is really thinking of the stigma of a "geezer" behind the wheel, they really need to grow up and get with the times.
  13. Just me, but I would make sure they just scab off the part they need off that new harness rather than them change out the whole harness. You run the risk of them inducing more problems if they decide to change out your whole harness rather than just swap out the sensor.
  14. Generally means what is holding up a vehicle from being built from either parts shortages or changes to previously published option availability when an order is placed.
