  1. I want them because they clean the look of the truck and one less thing to hang up when I'm driving across a pasture or road on our land, a coworker has them on his F-150 and they seem sturdy enough and he's not a small guy. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  2. I have the factory side steps for sale if anyone is interested. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  3. Drove north to Smoky Mts in 15F I got 15.3 average on interstate running 70 Driving back south I got 18.8 best average. 27.7 was on the Cherohala Skyway! Steep grades really give a great average.

  5. I'm in sales so I'm on the road all the time, fuel mileage is within 4mpg to my 2011 SHAWD TL requiring PREMIUM GAS Truck gets 15-18 town 21/24 hwy (75/55 mph)REGULAR GAS!!!!! The .40 difference per gallon makes up for the 4mpg less. I use the truck to pull no more than about 3-7k lbs max Usually this On a 6x12 trailer is all I have @2300lbs pulls like nothing's there even with the 3.08. If I need to pull something really heavy I borrow dads crewcab '73 F350 with a ported/polished/balanced and bored 90over 460 well over 600hp/600lbs plenty of grunt @4gpmile though The 3.08 can not handle the oversized tires like the 3.42 can those BFGs snuck-in in middle of the night and violently bludgeoned my fuel mileage to death with the aggressive good looking tread of a 33.6" all terrain tire.
  6. No AFM is load based by putting a larger tire on you are raising the gear ration making it harder for the engine to move the truck, however slightly it is enough to pass the set point at which the AFM switches V4 mode on and saves you gas money. You can tune it all you want but the engine will not have enough power in V4 to give the same fuel economy it was designed for. Chevy maxed the technology out to get the mileage. Just like putting 35's on a 4banger toyo your milage is gonna tank.
  7. Spoke with different dealer from where I bought it, the 2014 is tuned so specifically, oversized tires SCREW up the AFM.... Bummer.
  8. I'm running the 275/70-18 BFG which is a 10ply...60psi min, 80psi recommended...pressure doesn't seem to matter 60-80psi fuel mileage is same, with 5.3 it seems to HATE anything below @32F
  9. I drove to work @30miles this morning it was 12F, got 13.3MPG average for the trip. Drove home same route same traffic but in reverse and it was 45F .... 18.4MPG average. I have a 2012 Acura TL SH-AWD and when I have driven it I am almost the same for MPG on both legs. I am thinking that the Tires have made a slight decrease maybe 1-2MPG it doesn't go into V4 as often as it used to, but that the sub freezing temps are not a friend of the AFM motor. The engineer in me has to know the mechanics behind this. I think I am going to drive it a week or so before I spend @$200 on a programer to recalibrate the computer for the tires or the dealer to recalibrate for the tires.
  10. I was getting 18-20 with stock 265/65-18s and V4 was working a lot now I am averaging 15-16 with1000 miles on mine 5.3 3.08 and 275/70-18s which are 1.6" taller than stock 265/65-18s Wondering if calibration is the answer or just waiting for it to warm up it's been 22F or below the last 3 days here. Running 87 from same station since purchase.
