Then you would just replace the cloth with the new leather. They do it a lot at one of the dealers close by here.

Actually, yes and yes. When i put the dust caps back on after changing out the bulbs, I didn't get one of them back on properly and when I washed the truck the next time, BOOM! Lots of condensation in the housing. I took the cap completely off and opened the hood and let it sit in the sun for a whole day. Most of it evaporated but not all. They were calling for rain the next day so I put the cap back on and put the truck back in the garage. Next morning, lots of water again. So you can imagine, now I'm pissed. A few days later my Silica gels arrived. I put two in each light and haven't had a problem since. So after my novel, It accomplished both for me!

The Dessicant packages work great for eliminating this. I put a couple in each light after putting in new LED bulbs in my truck. I ordered from ebay and got like 100 little packages for 3 bucks or something. I would be happy to share with anyone wanting some of these things because they are just sitting in a bag in my rec room. PM me with your info if you would like some.

To each his own, but my experience with Advantage has been nothing but positive. He asked for other options and this is one. -

Check out the Advantage Hard Hat. I have had mine for about a year without issue. it seals well and sits flat like you are describing you would want. Folds up nicely or you can just remove it in about 2 minutes if necessary. It comes with either a vinyl top or a canvas top (very nice) and is in your price range. My bed has been dry since I bought mine. i have yet to see any water in my bed. I have a Bedrug so maybe there has been a little but I have checked and never seen any. I think you would be very pleased with it. Check it out. -

Did you try ShopChevyParts. I ordered mine from there and got it in like 3 days. -

Same here. I was always grabbing the steering wheel when I got in. Should have been a standard thing with the vehicle but it is very useful. -
Headlight Illumination Issues

Sounds like a phenomenal service manager. Mine has been good as well but, I'm not sure if he would go to those lengths. I had my bulbs replaced about a month ago. Took them right at an hour. -
GMC headlight recall concern

Yeah mine doesn't look like that at all! I would say the others are correct and you have a bulb not seated as it should be. -

I'll try it when I get home this evening. Not driving the truck today. -

Had the Vosla update done on Saturday morning. I have to say it is a substantial difference. There is definitely more light out in front of the truck at night and the lighting color is better as well. If you haven't done this yet, I highly recommend it. -

I went to my local dealer yesterday and talked to the service manager about this. He initially looked at me like I had two heads and said he had no idea what I was talking about. I then gave him the TSB # and he said OK "that's an engineering code." He then called it up on his computer and said "yep right here it is". Ordered the bulbs and will get me fixed up when they come in. If it helps, what he called up said something about addressing lighting in dark rural areas. If you're having difficulty with dealer try using GM terminology. -

I noticed that my truck handled better as well. I think it just tightened up the ride which I like. Agree completely on the 57 Buick comment! -

Had my truck aligned today. They said it wasn't out enough for me to notice, but it was out a little and would have affected tire wear some so I'm glad I had it checked. It was worth the 50 bucks I think!
