  2. Did you have to order red LED 194 bulbs? Also what is the reverse bulb number, I'd like to get that in LED as well.
  3. Are you close to Edmonton? ABC Muffler & Hitch. They did a custom cat back on my truck and they are great!
  4. Do you have dual out one side? I wonder if it would sound any different coming out behind each wheel? Maybe less loud?
  5. I have the 18" Magnaflow 12288 and am going to change to the 22" 12588 next week. Too much drone and the 18" is just too loud for me. I'm hoping it will make it a fare bit more quiet but not too sure if just going with a larger muffler will do it. I might be better off putting in two resonators? Don't know. Any suggestions would help at this point.
  6. Noticed the other day that there was rubbery pieces on my driveway where I park my truck, had a closer look and it appeared to be flaking off my frame, and rusting badly where it has been flaking off. Took it to my dealer yesterday and they said the entire frame has to be sand blasted and re-coated. I'm assuming they will have to lift the body from the frame? How many squeaks and rattles am I going to have after that? Also does anyone notice when the transmission shifts, not under load, the engine revs up a bit as if the transmission is slipping, then it catches and engages the next gear? Under load it doesn't do it at all, shifts fast and catches good.
  7. I was told that the magnaflow 15269 will fit the 6'6" bed from Custom Truck, they have stock as well. I went custom made, it was 1/2 the price using the same muffler. Installed by ABC Muffler in Edmonton for $551 tax inc.
  8. I think if you go cat back and stick to the longest muffler (generally more baffles) that is single in dual out 3 inch you should have less or no drone. Mine (video posted earlier) is loud and has some drone because I went small muffler and only 2.5 inch outlets.
  9. Short video of 2014 Sierra 5.3L custom Cat Back using Magnaflow 12288 Muffler and 4" stainless tips just behind rear wheels. Drone under load at about 1,800RPM.
  10. There is a slight drone on the V4, but mostly when it's on V8. Now' I'm curious, the third cat you are talking about is just before the muffler correct? I've heard people saying the third cat was by the tailpipe, but I'm sure that was just a resonator. What is "DoD", I'm guessing you have a tuner, which tuner is it? I'm worried about warranty issues so I'm not to inclined to remove the cat or install a tuner as I was told by my dealer if I do either it will void my warranty.
  11. Had a custom cat back system built by ABC Muffler in Edmonton Alberta. Magnaflow 12288 muffler and dual 4" stainless tips tucked right behind each rear wheel, awesome job, but very loud, drones between 1,800 and 2,000 RPM under load. When you put your foot in it, man it sounds great! Might have to put a couple of small resonators before each tip. So heads up for anyone looking to make there 5.3 sound like a big block old school muscle truck.
  12. I can't seem to find any cat backs for 2014 crew cab standard bed, it's the 6'6" box. I would prefer tips coming out behind rear wheels. Anybody know if the 15269 Magnaflow will work on my truck? I found one made by Gibson but I'm in Canada and can't buy from them. Any help would be appreciated.
  13. I traded in a 3/4T extended cab with a Duramax. I miss the power of the Duramax and diesel being cheaper than gas was great, but I changed jobs and my commute went from a 45 minute highway drive to a 7 minute drive, GM actually told me I was wrecking the Duramax and to stop using it for the short commute. The Urea injection regen cycling was a nightmare. So traded to the 2014 1/2 ton, it's like driving a sports car for handling in comparison, just lacking a bit in power from what I was used to.
  14. I can't believe all the problems you guys are having. I bought the very first truck off the carrier and the only thing that I didn't like was the poor headlights, so I switched to HID's. I live in northern Alberta and most of this winter has been -30C and I haven't plugged the block heater in until it hit -40C, starts great every time. The first trip we took was thru two mountain passes and was 3,500KM and my fuel average was 10.5L per 100KM. The dealership had to beg me to bring it in to do the recalls. I love my truck and enjoying personalizing it. Lift kit, wheels & tires, box rails, tinted windows (front) etc.
