  1. I gave next to nothing for the truck. Mechanically strong, minus the rocker/cab corner/door panel rust, a pretty decent looking truck. Just looking to make it look decent for the next couple years without dumping a ton of money into it. So a body shop is out of the question, it would be diy. I know they make plastic covers for the 99 to 07 Silverado, didn't know if there was something similar to that for the 88-98 k1500, whether glue on, rivet, etc
  2. Recently acquired a 97 k1500 ext cab with third door. Box in pretty good shape but rockers and cab corners are rusted. Rust is on back doors of ext can about 1/4 of the way up. What is the cheapest way of fixing/covering up for cosmetic purposes? Do they make plastic panels or glue on replacement panels for this year?
  3. I closed the deal today. They showed up at my bank with cash, bill of sale, etc all verified by the bank. The only thing I am not familiar with was statement of facts form that looked like the following and had place to sign. Anyone familiar with this form?
  4. As of now, I am supposed to meet them next week at my bank. I talked to the bank and they said as long as it's cash they can release title to them right then and there. Texas auto value said they will provide bills of sale. Still not sure if this is all legit or not but I guess we will see. If it's cash verified by the bank I would think I don't have anything to worry about.
  5. However this isn't a private buyer. It is a company called Texas Auto Value and they fly in, meet at my bank where the title is held. Inspect my truck at the bank, then go into the bank, pay cash to the teller - since there is a lien on it - and get the title to it. I would sign over and they do a bill of sale. I confirmed everything is cash at the bank, no checks, no transfers of any kind. That is why I am having a hard time figuring out what the scam would be on their end- assuming they show up next week when they say they are going to.
  6. So that is why I was wondering if it is legit, I'm more than happy with the offer. Seems too easy to be true

  8. I'm in iowa, not near any large cities. The offer that this texas auto value offered me was only a few hundred off my asking price, which was close to nada retail value in the first place. I posted on Facebook marketplace this morning and these guys contacted me a few hours later.
  9. Is this legit? Just listed 17 Silverado for sale and had a guy message me from Texas auto value and then call me and wants to fly in next week to meet at my local bank with cash to pay off loan and get title to buy my truck?
  10. Looking at buying a work commuter. Would obviously prefer gm but having a hard time finding anything decent.. came across a 2011 ford fiesta se auto with 95k for $4500. Anyone know much about the reliability of these?
  11. Have been looking at chevy cars for a few weeks now. Decent cars in general are hard to find in the area and most are way over priced. I've come across a 13 nissan sentra s auto trans with 120k at a local reputable auto sales/repair shop. It is a rebuilt title - axle, tie rods etc, no body work or frame damage. The body and interior are in exceptional shape for a 10 year old car. I've never owned a Nissan and know nothing about them but this seems to be about the best deal I've come across in my search. Does anyone know much about this model year of sentras? I'm assuming fuel economy is good. Probably be putting 15k a year on and would like to get a good 5 years out of it. More wondering about reliability, common issues etc
  12. Now have it narrowed down to a 16 cruze limited 54k or 15 sonic LT with 87k. Both with the 1.8. Leaning towards the sonic because of the much lower price. And that one comes from reputable dealership that includes a lifetime power train warranty. Be using as a work commuter putting on 10 to 15k a year. Anyone have experience with the sonic?
  13. The malibu got sold before I had a chance to look. Now looking at a 16 cruze limited ls with the 1.8 and a 17 chevy sonic with 1.4 turbo. Both around 50k for miles
  14. Well nevermind on that one, it sold before I got a chance to look at it. But I may be looking at a 2011 malibu 2.4 4 cyl with 54000 miles. How would this compare in terms of reliability
  15. Looking at a 13 cruze lt1 with 87k for a work commuter. Are there any common problems with this model year or a generally reliable car? Will probably be putting on 10 to 12k a year
