  1. My apologies for not having checked this board in a while. I still use my charger daily, and it continues to work perfectly. The only challenge (unrelated to install) is I went from Samsung Note 3 to Samsung S5 which doesn't stay put as well. I've just developed the habit of reaching down and making sure it's placed all the way to the front of the tray. I'm glad to reach that this has helped.
  2. Thanks for the help. Looks like I have the expensive one.
  3. You may be right. I just assumed it was auto dim. How can I confirm?
  4. I broke the mirror glass on my passenger door (SLT Power Folding, Auto Dim, LED Turn Signal). Any suggestions on where I can get inexpensive replacement glass?
  5. Hi Cansled- Correct, the inner wire is the positive, and I connected the ground to black on the outlet.
  6. P.S. In not an electrician so if someone knows better than I do, please speak up. Sent from my SM-N900V using Tapatalk
  7. The Nokia charger I used is 12v so I was able to wire it direct using the power cord that came with it. The power bot is 5v, so you might need to go into the USB port. Sent from my SM-N900V using Tapatalk
  8. Success.... everything is installed and working. I was able to attach the spliced ends to the hot and ground on the backside of the power outlet: I put a hole in the tray and fished the power cord to the edge. You can see the cord plugged in to the charger pad: Close up of hinge where the power cord is (the slack is bundled up begins the back panel) Everything works great. The phone charges, and the outlet I tapped into is switched, so no drain when off. Sent from my SM-N900V using Tapatalk
  9. I've been able to remove back panel of console allowing access to power port. I'm out of t-taps, so can't finish until tomorrow, but all that is left is drilling hole in tray, running Nokia power cord through hinge area (to keep it clean), and tapping into power port leads. Location of screws to remove back panel is in rear storage area (remove rubber mat): Back panel removed (pull up and out)... You can see leads I plan on tapping for power. 10. Tapatalk wasn't allowing me to post the link to the charging pad. Let's see if this works: http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00FTULQJU/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?qid=1395803457&sr=8-3&pi=SY200_QL40
  11. I have a Note 3. Which, as Rkparker pointed out, fits perfectly (although I have yet to launch it...lol). I wonder if magnets would help hold it in place? The receiver pad I use was given to me, and until now had not checked it's max output. The pad I am using has a max output of 700ma, which explains the 640ma reading I get. I am ordering this pad (rated at 1000ma) to see if it works better: http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00FTULQJU/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?qid=1395803457&sr=8-3&pi=SY200_QL40 I have yet to get the auxiliary power port out of the console, and am now considering a fuse tap. Makes for a longer run, but if I'm unable to get the port out without damaging the console (and/or port) this might be the route I take. Anyone have advice on how to get it out easily?
  12. Here is the charger I ordered: http://www.amazon.com/Nokia-DT-900-Wireless-Charging-Plate/dp/B00A3NCC5K/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1395770932&sr=8-1&keywords=dt-900 I haven't tested in the tray yet. I did perform several tests with stacks of plastic cards between the charger and the phone. I don't have a case on my phone, but was able to get a charge @ 10mm (thicker that the tray+mat) with no problem.
  13. Made a bit of progress, but not finished. I have zeroed in on the Nokia DT-900 wireless charging pad. It has 3 coils and a substantially greater range that the previous. Here is a pic of the unit: I took that case apart to allow for this unit to fit under the armrest tray (also adds range). Here is the armrest tray with the mat removed. There are 6 star screws that need to be removed: Here is the tray removed with the charger next to it: The charger just fits in the void between the tray and the lid: I was able to replace 4 of the 6 screws. It's a REALLY snug fit. You will need to apply light pressure to each corner to get the screws in....you can see the charger through the two center holes: Here is a pic of the mat back in. There is a very slight hump in the tray with the charger underneath. Not perfect, but looks good: Next step is connecting power....The best thing about this charger is it runs off of 12v. So, my plan is to drill a small hole in the lid underneath the tray and fish the cord down through the lid hinge. I will then splice the power cord and tap into the accessory power port on the rear of the center console. From what I understand this port is also switched, so no concern of power drain while truck is off. (It's worth noting that Nokia uses a proprietary barrel size on this charger cord so universal kits won't work). My question to everyone is: Has anyone successfully removed this port without damaging the console? If so, any advice/instructions/warnings? Pics would be tremendously helpful.
  14. Moto, you make a great point.... I don't suppose anyone has the part number for the tray in the armrest? I am a little apprehensive on cutting, but if it's a low cost piece I can always replace it.
  15. I understand the challenge of charging your phone via USB. I will say this device does put out a 640ma charge over usb which should charge your device.... depending on the number of apps and background processes are running. If you're running gps there's no way. If you're on Android there is an app called GSam Battery Monitor. This not only identifies the charger output, it will help you identify apps using your battery.
