I bought a 2012 GMC 2500 Denali and want to get rid of the chrome door handles. I know it’s a long shot but I would be willing to buy/trade someone for their Summit White door handles. PM me please

Thank you

Project "De-Chrome the Sierra" underway
gjernagan16 replied to RideZX6R's topic in 2014 - 2019 Silverado & Sierra
The window trim isn't hard to get off, the problem is you will break the clips that hold it in place unless you know exactly what your doing or have done it before. Believe me i've done it. Easiest way if you want it black is plastidip it. Thats what I did and it looks good. Easier to mask off the around the trim a bit then to remove them all. -

Real life experiences towing w/ max tow 6.2
gjernagan16 replied to Bigmac's topic in 2014 - 2019 Silverado & Sierra
I have a 2017 6.2 Max Tow crew cab, I had a 2014 5.3 SLE crew cab before. I towed a 24' completely finished on the inside racing trailer with my 2300lb race car inside. I don't know the exact weight but it was in the neighborhood of 7000-7500. I got a new 2017 6.2 max tow, after I bought the new truck I also bought a new trailer, a 28ft race trailer completely finished with tool boxes and everything. I would have to guess this one weights about 8000-8500. The new 6.2 Max tow is night and day better than my 2014, I use load leveling bars and it tows it fine. hope this helps and sorry for the long winded answer. -
I am having this issue with my 2017, haven't noticed if onstar is not working though. My remote link app still works most of the time, compass seems to work but about every 2-3 ignition cycles I get the red lines through GPS and don't have any navigation. I had the shark fin replaced last week but issue is still here? any ideas to tell dealer before I go back?

Window trim replacement
gjernagan16 replied to gjernagan16's topic in 2014-2018 Silverado & Sierra Mods
I waited for it to dry on all my emblems and GMC emblem on the front but I also taped off and left a gap like everyone does. That worked great, but on the window trim I taped them off right against the chrome on the top because there isn't much of a line or anything for the dip to cut itself cleanly. If in situations where you tape it off real close to your line or can, its best to peel tape when its wet. It came off clean as a whistle, I've done it both ways just on the trim this worked alot better. I also only waited about 5-6 minutes in between coats this time with the trim, where as before I waited about 10 minutes or more between coats, so i'm sure some of your coats before were pretty well dry so that made a difference in it not coming off clean. -

Window trim replacement

I just re-did it today and and did 3 coats and right after i sprayed the last coat i peeled the tape off and it worked perfect. The first time I did it I waited until all were dry and it didn't work well at all. peeling the tape off wet made it 10x better. -
Window trim replacement

Yea i looked at that and they seem to be lined up, I'm thinking maybe i have bent the whole thing open somehow. In the process i messed up the black dip so tomorrow looks like im going to re-dip it and try again haha. Yes, if i ever do it again or give advice to anyone i would have rather left them on the truck and dipped them. Just mask everything off good which wouldn't be hard. Just make sure after your last coat you peel off the tape while its still wet so it doesn't try to pull it off when it dry's. -
So I painted my window trim today black from chrome. I cannot for the life of me get the rear passenger side door to go back on? any tips or tricks? all the rest seem to go on fine, but this one just won't stay on. The clips aren't broken from what I can tell?

That looks awesome, I actually liked the Cocoa/Dune interior only reason I didn't get it was for that exact reason I didn't want the seats that tan color. Good job!
