  1. Fob battery. Truck battery is 13 months old. Starts fine otherwise, but may get it checked if noting else works.
  2. So started last week, of course when it got down to -30 haha. My remote starter isn't working. Door locks are fine. Tried both remotes. Hoods seems to be closed - no warnings of any kind. Tried a new batter and still nothing. It will work very rarely. IE was walking out of a mall last week and tried it, and it started. But then wouldn't again until this morning once, but nothing again since. Any ideas?
  3. May as well update again. The last service didn't fix anything, so I went back in and spoke with the service manager who said he'd take a look at it personally. Long story short, they're ordering me a new transmission under "customer satisfaction", but it's back ordered and who knows how long that may take. Hopefully it fixes it....
  4. So just to follow up, I brought my truck in for a oil change and again brought up the issue. They agreed there was an issue this time, and I dropped it off on tuesday. Got it back today, and they said they tore into the transmission and replaced the "backing plate retaining rings" as well as the valve body again. Also used "Dextron HP ATF Mobil Synth fluid" So we'll see if it fixed anything....
  5. So I have a 2017 Sierra 1500, with the 6.2L and 8spd transmission. For the last couple of years, I've had an issue where there are hard shifts (mostly 1st to 2nd) or occasionally while towing on the highway as well. More chronic is when I'm driving, usually the first 2 or 3 stops in the morning I feel like I'm getting bumped from behind. A thunk with the truck being knocked forward. That part has been getting worse where it's not just the first 2 or 3, but more sporadic now as well. I've brought it in a couple times and been told that they don't notice the issue, or hooked it up to something and everything is "within spec". They did change the tranny valve body or something a while back as well, but no fix, and getting worse. Anyone had something similar? Any fixes advice? Warranty is up in Sept so would love to get it solved before then. I got it going in for an oil change on Monday, so bringing it up with them again. Thanks!
  6. So we were heading home from camping on the weekend with our trailer attached, and the kid conveniently needed a pee break at a rest stop with a self weigh scale. So I stopped and got a quick weight on front, rear and trailer axles. I thought there was supposed to be a sticker that gave the axle weight ratings but I can't fine done - just the tire info sticker. Any idea where I can find the proper info for my truck? Thanks!
  7. So I have a 2017 Sierra 1500 6.2 8spd. When I start it up in the morning, drive out of my drive way and come to a stop sign, no matter how softly and gently I apply the breaks it feels like someone rear ended me just as I come to a full stop. A firm clunk from behind. It only happens for the first 2 or 3 stops (or 2 or 3 minutes if I don't come to any) and only when the truck is cold. If I park for an hr or so and drive again it doesn't happen but every morning. Any ideas of what it could be? Been doing it for a while now. Thank!
  8. Yup, pretty much the rebadged Daewoo's are the only ones I am aware of. My dad (after being re-ended and given false insurance info from the lady) was in the market for a cheap but somewhat reliable car to get to and from cancer treatment a couple years ago. Went to a GM dealership to look at an Aveo (same thing as a sonic I think?) with just over 75k miles on it. The sales guy didn't have any records of the timing belt being changed, but insisted it's fine, and "if it goes, just replace it then". Claimed to know about interference engines and the whole deal, but couldn't understand why we didn't want to buy a car that needed a timing belt done right away, and wouldn't just wait till it snapped. We did not buy the car. Found a Saturn Ion for the same price, with fewer km, and a much better car overall.
