  1. Probably lucky you're getting that deal. I was out test driving a ram today and I was talking to my salesman about how I had tested the 2015 f150 and the silverado and he told me that they aren't taking anymore Silverados or sierras as trades because of all the problems. They have a bunch in their used lot and he said they are having a really hard time reselling them. Crazy how word has gotten around on these being lemons.
  2. Great video series keakar. Glad to see more vibration complaints finally making their way over to the NHSTA office of defects complaints. Keep up the good fight guys.
  3. Yea, I kind of laugh at myself how tough it is to go to another brand. Still love the way this truck looks over the other brands. But obviously these trucks are not be trusted and especially not GM for taking care of loyal customers. Sucks, my has an 09 Tahoe. Been a great vehicle for us. I don't understand why GM can't fix this problem and take care of their customers. To me that is worst part of this as a potential future buyer the reputation hit GM is taking by not admitting the problem and taking care of it.
  4. Thanks for posting. I've been beating myself up over not grabbing a 2014 in blue topaz. But that is the nightmare scenario if you can't tell on the test drive and it pops up later.
  5. Great post and 100% agreed. It's sad the way they've treated loyal customers. I've wanted a new Silverado forever but after two of three test drives I've taken being vibrators and seeing how people have been treated with no fix in sight I've started looking at other brands. Test drove an 8 speed ram that really nice. I keep checking back here hoping for fix but it doesn't look like one is coming.
  6. TR84 I'm glad you mentioned the NHSTA. I posted this before but it looks like no one as filed with them. From what I've read this is the only government department with the authority to investigate defective vehicles. Guys I feel for you but all these complaints on a truck forum probably do nothing to benefit you or force GM to do anything about the vibration. If all of you filed a complaint on this site that have the vibration problem that'd surely be a pattern of defect. This is absolutely a defect, and this is who handles these things. http://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/owners/SearchResults.action?searchType=PROD&prodType=V&targetCategory=A&activeTab=2&searchCriteria.model_yr=2014&searchCriteria.make=CHEVROLET&searchCriteria.model=SILVERADO&searchCriteria.prod_ids=1884945
  7. More info from that site: Keeping You Safe Welcome to SaferCar.gov, where you can identify and report problems you might be having with your vehicle, tires, equipment or car seats. If you think you have a problem, we want you to tell us about it. We are the Office of Defects Investigation, or ODI. We are a part of the U.S. DOT's National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the nation's only agency authorized to conduct defect investigations and administer safety recalls on everything from vehicles and equipment to tires and child safety seats. Our engineers and investigators look into problems you report to help ensure you and others stay safe on our nation's roads and highways. Why your complaint is importantYour complaint information will be entered into NHTSA-ODI's vehicle owner's complaint database and used with other complaints to determine if a safety-related defect trend exists. If a safety-related defect exists in a motor vehicle or item of motor vehicle equipment, the manufacturer must provide a remedy at no cost to the owner. Your complaint is the first step in the process. We do not have to receive a specific number of complaints before we look into a problem. We gather all available information on a problem. Your complaint is important to us. Seems like if all you filed about the vibration it would help. https://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/ivoq/
  8. http://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/owners/SearchResults.action?searchType=PROD&prodType=V&targetCategory=A&activeTab=2&searchCriteria.model_yr=2014&searchCriteria.make=CHEVROLET&searchCriteria.model=SILVERADO&searchCriteria.prod_ids=1884945 This is the link I was reading with very few vibration reports. You should be able to submit there.
  9. RE: The safety issue. It very well could be a safety issue you never know. I was reading complaints on the NHTSA site today to see about the vibration issue. Only like 4 reports on there for the vibration. Not for nothing but there have to be over hundred of you owners here with the vibration problem but only a small number of reports there. I'm guessing GM really doesn't care about complaints on a truck forum. If you want to force their hand y'all really should be reporting this to a safety agency like NHSTA, if they get enough reports they'll start investigating GM.
  10. Trust me. I've read every post of this thread. I know. And it ****ing sucks. I don't know how much longer my current vehicle will hold out, the incentives are finally down in my price range but I just can't trust the quality of these 2014s and most disturbingly GM to back their product and treat loyal customers with any decency. I don't know what I'll do if my current ride finally breaks down but I'm praying GM gets this problem most importantly and the other issues figured out for the 2015s. The fords and rams are just flat out ugly, really the only other vehicle I like would be a dodge challenger but I really don't want a car. This sucks. Get this shit figured out pronto GM.
  11. Just go to the forum you want. Click start a new topic. Then manage topic poll on the right.
  12. For what it's worth both ford and ram have had the same problem in the past. Not nearly as widespread as this GM problem but google _____ vibration and you'll see others from competitors with the same problem. I feel terrible for y'all with the issue. I've test driven three Silverados. One had a real bad 70+ vibration, one a mild 40-50 vibe and the other didn't vibrate. I honestly think this issue is more widespread than the 20-25% reported on the forums. I hope they get this figured out in the future and get y'all fixed or bought back. It's really shocking how many people have this problem. The worst part is GM not standing by their product and taking a piss at loyal customers.
  13. No problem. That'll be the tire I go with if I ever get my truck. Post pics if you do it.
