  1. that makes perfect sense and certainly explains why my system with LKA seldom vibrates my seat ----- my complaint is that even though the LKA works remarkable well, it doesn't prevent the vehicle from leaving the lane every single time and l don't expect it to - however l did expect the seat to vibrate every time the vehicle leaves the lane - my 2014 lane depart warning without LKA seat alert went off every time l hit the painted line
  2. thank you - lt sounds like the system on your 2018 works like mine did in my 2014 - provided there was a decent painted line, the the seat would vibrate damn near every time you got close to leaving your lane - worked good -.................. Now for 2019 GM added a steering assist feature to the lane departure warning system - as one approaches closely to the painted line, the indicator light turns yellow and the truck will steer itself back into the lane, which works roughly 8 out of 10 times - if the truck manages to cross the painted line the seat will vibrate about 10% of the time - if GM would do a software upgrade to have the seat alert when the indicator light turns yellow the system would be far more effective - as it is, under certain indeterminable conditions the system does nothing - ( my seat vibrator works well because the Park Assist feature makes it vibrate constantly when pulling into my garage as well)
  3. My 2019 Sierra SLT Lane Departure Warning doesn't seem to be working right - here is the GM description of it's operation 1• When a left or right lane marking is detected, a green icon is displayed 2• If you let your vehicle drift over a detected lane marking without intentionally steering or using your turn signal, this icon turns amber and the system provides brief steering wheel inputs to help guide you back into your lane; this can be easily overridden with normal steering 3• If lane drifting still occurs, the Lane Departure Warning system will flash the amber icon; in addition, the Safety Alert Seat pulses on the left or right side. my issue is on #3 - when the amber icon flashes, my seat seldom pulses - my 2014 - Z71 seat pulsed EVERY time l crossed a lane marking unintentionally which really gets your attention I'm wondering if all the 2019's have the seldom pulsing seat like mine or do they normally pulse every time the amber icon flashes.
  4. How's your lane departure warning working ? - Here's what's going on with mine - On my old truck (2014 - Z71) lane departure warning would vibrate seat every time the truck got close to the painted lane lines - New truck (2019 Sierra) the system will steer the truck back into the lane MOST of the time - the green symbol in the speedo turns yellow EVERY time l get close to the painted lines - yet the seat vibrate will only work about every tenth time - it seems the seat should vibrate every time the yellow light comes on (the seat vibrate works fine for park alert)
  5. 2019 cameras are on the bottom of the side mirrors - look unadjustable
  6. thanks for the reply - you're right - l think the vibrating seat is far less noticeable - you might want to try to get the seat to vibrate when driving on or near the painted line to see if you think yours is working right - l can get the yellow symbol to light up every time but seldom get the seat alert - maybe there will be more replys on this topic - the dealer wasn't really sure what to think about it
  7. 8. Airbox mod w/K&N, MIT, hollowing out 3rd cat, and a 4" Magnaflow cat back provided me with a very noticeable power increase.
  9. If you've ever had a 'built for use in Canada' truck, you may be more accepting of the DRL configuration on these trucks. In the mandatory DRL Canada truck, the only way to turn off the DRL is to push your parking brake down one click. This turns your dashboard brake warning light on and you have to wonder if your parking brake is dragging a little. When the DRL first came out in Chevrolet US trucks, you could pull the DRL fuse. With the Canada trucks it takes some moderately serious wiring mods to disable the DRL. My point is that I don't like to be told what to do any more than the next guy but, in this case, there is a relatively convenient out. Just turn the DRL off with the spring loaded headlight switch. If you end up driving around some of the time with the DRL on, what's the harm ? It is conceivable that in some cases it could be safer to drive with the DRL on. I would definitely be annoyed if you couldn't turn them off. Additionally, older Chevy trucks required a mod to keep the low beam on with the high beam. Now all you need to do is the fogs on with high beam mod (and maybe LED fog lights) It's all good.
  10. 285's (I guess they're actually called TOYO A/T Open Country Extreme)

  12. Yea, it's a super soft suction cup with a flip lever to lock it in place. Works good, the instructions recommend sticking it to the windshield to avoid marring the dashboard, but I'm not seeing a problem with where I have it. Good quality for under $20.
