  1. Looking into the engine bay so the passenger side of the vehicle.
  2. It was $500 to replace, about 270 of that was the starter.. All CAD of course. I went and picked it up and same issue sadly. Turned it on, 2 minutes goes by and the same noise/smoke came by.
  3. I took my truck in for a wheel alignment and an oil change to the dealership. I hopped back in my vehicle and let it warm up prior to taking off (it was -27C). Approximately 2 minutes idling the engine started to squeal. I thought it was the vehicle beside me but eventually it got louder and louder and the truck shut off on it's own. I went back into the dealership to bring it to their attention, someone came out and looked at it with me. With his "guidance" I started it back up perfectly fine and almost instantly the engine compartment started to squeal and smoke on the left hand side of the engine bay. After a couple seconds of it running I shut it off and they towed it inside. They're saying it's 100% the Starter Motor. My question is how likely is it for a starter motor to get stuck in the circuit while idling and just outright fail like that? Doesn't make any sense to me. 2014 GMC Sierra 1500 Approx. 180,000km.
  4. Hi all, I've had my truck for almost a year now. Been having these vibration issues since 6000km, now currently around 14,000km. I'm looking at all these posts as I haven't been here for awhile, last post was back on of 150ish. And it makes me even more furious, that at least you guys are getting serviced and having other problems looked at. My truck has been in the shop for a total of 24 times, and all they have done is rotated the tires, and change out the rubbers 3 different times. About three months in I got a hold of GM Canada or their customer service and started a case. I've asked them to buy back my lemon or at least let me trade it in for one that I know doesn't vibrate (or at least if didn't). Several months later I keep getting the.same answer "The dealer has to do everything in their power to fix this before we can go down that route". Doing the same thing for over 7 months is not "everything in their power". I've almost accepted my fate that I'm stuck with this vibration until I buy a new vehicle.
  5. I know it's unacceptable, regardless of age. Just that's the truth, younger people don't get treated with the same respect as someone who is older I find.
  6. It wasn't only other employees it was in front of other customers. I will be bringing it up with the senior director that's apparently coming in on my case. The service manager hasn't liked me from day one. I think it's probably my age, I get treated much differently then I would if I was older. I'm 21 who owns a 60k truck.
  7. I've had my truck for a total of 6 months (maybe 7). This vibration issue arose about 2 months later with 6000km on it.. Its been 4-5 months later with an extra 7000km put on it, and its still not fixed. Every time I take it to the shop and get it back all that they have done is balanced my tires. I have maybe 20 services reports with them stating, the vibration is there, balanced the tires, its now fixed. Yet I drive it 500km (thats a round trip for me) and its never gone. I will drive 20km and its not gone but I need to get back home. So what do I do, I brought it right back (yesterday) and as I walked into the service shop the service manager announces to everyone "Look who it is! It's *Full name, middle and last)* coming in with his "Vibration" issue. What can we do for you today!?" I almost told him to **** right off there, but instead kept my cool (sort of) and said "Heres my truck again, why don't you do your job and get this fixed. Maybe try something different and look elsewhere not just the tires."
  8. and then I would find its Moose relatives and hit them! lol
  9. I would hit that deer and its family and its friends many, many times.
  10. Anyone else just want to say... **** this, finding a deer and going to total the PoS truck? I'm ready to do that.
  11. A little update on my story.. Heres my original post: http://www.gm-trucks.com/forums/topic/153186-shake-or-vibration-issues/page-91 But if you want the jist of it now, Vibration at highway speeds, dealership in my home city said no vibrations at all, planned on taking it to another dealership 45 minutes away that said thats not right. So monday came and went by and I took my truck to the dealership. When I got there I explained to him that I am absolutely positive that there is a vibration in my vehicle because I've had a rattle "fixed" multiple times and it is fixed until I hit the highway for about 20 minutes. So I took the service manager and a service rep for a test drive, had them both sit in the backseat for a little bit just to hear this rattle in my passenger seat. Once it was established that my truck indeed did have a rattle I brought the manager up in the front seat. We hit the highway and thankfully the passing lane of the highway has been just redone, so it was completely smooth. Once we got on there the manager noticed that the vibration was clear and so did the rep in the back seat. So they decided to look at it, they took it for their own test drive afterwards ruling out the engine and drive shaft. Leading really only the tires left. So today they took of the tires, and tested other ones of different sizes and different makes. The vibraton was still there. They proceeded to take out other trucks straight from the lot and test drive those, which they say the vibration is still there even in those trucks and its just the "characteristics" of these type of trucks. Even though when I test drove these when I bought one (tested about 5), there was no vibration. So I am headed to the dealership to test drive 3 from the lot and if there is even one without a vibration, they are keeping it until its either fixed or decide to give me my money back. I will keep you all updated on it! P.S I am really starting to get pissed of at this and I have a feeling if I take out a truck without vibration I am going to get a response something like this "I guess it's only a few trucks that have this type of characteristic"
  12. Yes I am pursuing the issue, I'm not giving up until its either fixed or they give me back my money and take my business elsewhere. Though from the sounds of it, this other dealerships service manager is a good guy and agrees with me that its not normal at all. Said he will personally look over it. Though if its not fixed, you can count on GM getting a very quick call.
  13. Well I guess I will add to this.. I bought my truck back in January, it had 8km on it when bought. The truck came with a set of 18" rims and 22" rims. Since it was winter the 18" rims were kept on. It wasn't till about a month ago, that the vibrations started happening. I thought it might have been over/under inflated tires but with a check of the handy dandy gauge they were fine (both on screen and two handheld ones). Then came the 22" rims, when they were first put on they were fine for about 2 days. After that the vibration has come back and is getting progressively worst. The vibration occurs in my seat, steering wheel and gas pedal. I'm not exactly sure if it occurs in other areas of the truck as I haven't had passengers to test it. Just a example of how bad it is, I will put my arm on the middle console and if my life depended on it, I wouldn't be able to hold it still. Took it to the dealership, their service rep and manager took it out for a test drive and "It's perfectly normal for these trucks to vibrate like that".. Well I'm sorry, when I first bought this truck (and test drove them) they were perfectly vibration free. Not only that but they didn't start happening till about 5000km (currently at 6500km). Anyways there's my little rant. Oh on a side note I talked to another dealership in another city, their service manager explained to me that its not normal and they have had similar issues and have been resolved. Not exactly sure what they did, but this gives me a little hope. Taking the truck in on Monday and will let you know how it goes.. Little about my truck: 6500km 2014 GMC Sierra 1500 SLE model (don't quote me on that but I am pretty sure it is) 22" rims on it right now (was happening with the 18") Standard Bed Crew Cab 4x4 Complete Tow Package
  14. Where do I begin? Truck Vibrates at highway speed (newly found, but "normal" apparently) Always pulls to the right side though wheels are perfectly aligned and symmetrical Massive rattling noise in passenger seat.. Window visors are falling off Window is binding to the visors making them come off more Cover clips are broken thus revealing parts (from day one) Serious black smoke in colder weather even when plugged in (no other vehicle does this?) That's all within 6500km of owning this vehicle from brand new. 2014 Sierra 1500 SLE Crew Standard Box 4x4 22" rims (Everything above also happens on 18" rims)
