  1. copied from my service history...including the techs spelling errors. PHONED TAC-LINE FOR MORE INFO, TALKED TO (support guys name and S/N) THEY HAVE NO MORE INFO THAN THE PIT5374B THAT WAS ALREADY DONE. *
  2. Correct me if im wrong but your post was just saying you think that my software was not updated and only the bulbs were changed. I have had them verify that i have the latest software, and that the voltage is within the current spec, not the previous software spec that the truck was delivered with back in 2014.
  3. so my bulbs blew out again, these ones were bought at the dealership early december and i installed them on dec 2nd or 3rd. i now have it booked in for service friday for a oil change, squeak coming out of the engine (im guessing a pulley...powertrain warranty..) and you guessed it...NO HEADLIGHTS AGAIN. i thought i would take a look at the bulbs and if you look at the filament inside it is melted... too much power is going to the bulbs, soo much that it has actually melted it...im no expert but that isnt normal...
  4. Any chance do you have your old vin and can i have it? Also olease put in a complaint on gm canadas facebook
  5. i would really appreciate it if everyone with a 14/15 sierra that has had legit complaints about headlight bulb life or light output please go on to GM Canadas and GM USA's facebook (please go on both so we get enough visibility) and reply to their posts and voice your issues where they can be publicly seen, not just in this private forum. keep it clean and just state the facts, they made a defective product and are refusing to own up to it and fix the issue. maybe if they start seeing their ads are getting ruined with LEGIT complaints it will force them to actually do something. my next step will will be having a meeting with my dealership then if that fails ill be going the legal route. this is total bs, they need to own up to their product being defective.
  6. if memory serves me right the filament was white on the burnt out ones.
  7. According to the shop foreman, he tested all the voltage points related to headlights and the grounds and they are all within GM spec. In theroy, higher voltage wears out bulbs faster, so the old software the bulbs would last longer.
  8. im not going to give up on this and i wish i would have someone else push on it too. if someone else with headlight complaints on a 14 sierra could send me their vin i can lean on it harder and show service records with my statement of claim if i sue....which seems to be the direction this is going. i just want them to fix my headlights .. just double checked, issue started on june 30 2014 with 15366 km..
  9. Hi XXXXX, Thanks for your feedback. We sincerely wish we were able to resolve every reported concern in favour of the customer; unfortunately, this is not always possible. We acknowledge that this issue has not been concluded to your satisfaction; however, our decision remains the same. Please contact the Service Manager, XXXXXX for detailed explanation. Best Regards, Kathleen GMC Canada Customer Care Hi Kathleen, Please inform me as to what the resolution is. Thank you XXXXXXX(my name) You have not provided any sort of position. Hi XXXXX, Thanks again for your feedback. The manufacture’s obligation to the base warranty is for the first three years or 60,000 KM of the vehicle (whichever comes first). We’re sure you can appreciate, as a vehicle gets further from its original warranty period, the manufacturer’s responsibility diminishes and it becomes the owner’s responsibility to maintain and repair the vehicle. For further information, please contact the Service Manager, XXXXX directly. You are welcome to contact us should you have any other inquiries or concerns. Best Wishes, Kathleen GMC Canada Customer Care Complaint was issued under 20,000km and within 3 years. Thank you Ongoing issue. heres my latest convo with GM Canada. they are dtill trying to deny any sort of liability for it, i think im going to be forced to actually sue, which was the advice from Transport canada.
  10. i just dont think i should have to go with aftermarket, thats what everyone has been doing and GM is getting away with a defective part because of it. guaranteed they monitor these forums and they see the complaints, they see everyone just fixing the issue themselves. if anyone has documented headlight complaints, specifically them blowing out too often i would love to get a hold of their vin so i can get their service records to add some fuel to my complaint...and if i do decide to sue i want to make sure i have proof its not a 1 off issue.
  11. so im still fighting GM on the headlight issue. i got a little attention from them on one of their facebook posts but they are stonewalling me. the reply i got after going back and forth with them in DM on FB and them pulling my service records again... ------------------------------------------------------- Thank you for your patience. We were able to locate your file with the information you provided and we’ve also been in communications with the Service Manager, XXXXXXX at XXXXXXX(dealership Name) GMC. We’ve confirmed that your concern has already been addressed. We feel that every consideration has been given in reviewing your concern, and we can only ask that you attempt to understand the rationale supporting our decision, as previously discussed with you. While we regret our review did not meet your satisfaction, we must respectfully reconfirm our position. We sincerely wish it were possible to resolve every concern to our customer’s complete satisfaction, unfortunately, this is not always the result. We appreciate our feedback, rest assured, your dissatisfaction has been documented. Please contact us again should you have any other inquiries or concerns. Respectfully, Kathleen GMC Canada Customer Care ---------------------------------------------------------- i love the part where she says my concern has been addressed... they put new bulbs in and they blew out again...and again and again. im not going to give up on fighting them on it.. ive honestly been waiting for the 2019 redesign to trade in on either a 19 or a 20 but now with the BS they are giving me just over headlights ive really been thinking about going to another brand. my last 4 vehicles have all been GM....ive been loyal to the brand but now they cant even get headlights to work on a truck i spent $50,000 on. ive been told by transport canada to sue GM and that i will win...i dont really want to go that route but hell i may have to... i dont want aftermarket headlight...i just want the damn things to work properly.
  12. have you reported this yet??? my headlights blow out every 5000-8000km!! shoot me a PM, it looks like you are in the states but get your complaint logged!!
  13. will do but people who own the trucks need to make safety complaints..it takes 5 min to make the call. i also have a voicemail from Auto protection Association saying they are well aware of the issue, and are also trying to force GM is issue a recall, in the meantime they have no solution but say that we do have the right to take GM to small claims court individually.
