Seat Movement Issues
Utemachine replied to jdvaughn's topic in 2014-2018 Silverado & Sierra Troubleshooting
I am very close to selling my 2014 Silverado. This thing has been in the shop more than any vehicle I have ever owned and I am at 9000k miles. But it is the seat that is driving me insane. I have had the clip or shim fix three times and also had the actuator replaced. I took it into a dealer in Denver as we just moved here and they said they can't do anything and to wait and keep in mind there is supposed to be some movement. Really??? My seat is supposed to wobble? Sorry you cant tell me the sky is pink and i will believe it. And you want me to wait for a fix that may never come while my truck seat shift too and fro??? How is this acceptable? We have been planning on purchasing a Denali next month and because GM can't get a seat right on a 50k truck I will never buy their product again. I've been patient in dealing with this for a year but I am about done with GM. Sent from my SM-T800 using Tapatalk -

Happy to report that my seat has been fixed. The fix explained sounds similar to the clamp fix. They drill holes in the bar and install clips in the new holes on both sides. So far so good. -

I'm going on week 5 of waiting for parts. The dealer called me in last week said the parts were in so I brought my freshly washed truck in to finally get this seat fixed. I get a call the next day and they are still waiting on another part. And my truck was left out in the rain and given back to me filthy. They said parts are out another 3 weeks. I went through all of that hassle and paid for my own car wash. Great service Chevy! -

He mentioned the shims are what will take so long because of the volume of shims they will need for the recall. When did the TSB come out? -

I just got off the phone with my dealer and they said the seat is officially a brand new recall. They ordered parts for my seat two weeks ago and they are still waiting on the shims. He anticipated another 3 weeks for the shims to arrive. What a joke! -

I bought it a few weeks ago and love it! Minus the broken drivers seat after 2 weeks. -
Here is mine with a 2.5 RC level. The wheels are 20x9 Fuels with a +14 offset running Duratrac 275/65/20's. So far no rubbing.

I took mine in a week ago and they ordered parts which aren't in yet. Add me to the sloppy seat list.
