  1. Wow, how many posts and still no cure, I'm raising the white flag. GM doesn't need my future business.
  2. Thanks to whoever found this repair bulletin.I called the gm shop and mentioned the bulletin and got the we've never heard of this or any problems with the lighting, but bring it in and we'll have a look.Well...phoned gm Canada talked to someone there that really cared,he phoned the dealership while I held on the line (muted)had a conference call when he came back on with dealership.I can assure you the dealership had a keen interest in this repair, even calling back after the conference call had ended. Thanks again Jim
  3. Ok since you asked for any questions does it have any vibration problems at city or highway speeds? If you are road testing this truck please check anything that future buyers may experience eg paint, body fit ,body panels wandering, simple things like lifting tail gate with grittiy hands and scratching paint.im 6 feet plus and can barely reach the dip stick on my 2014 GMC Sierra (v6).People may buy based on your opinion,be honest
  4. I took the truck out and checked again in normal drive and m5,v4 mode normal no load shake around 1100 rpm,m5 same streets same speeds and yes a very very slight vibration So what I think,in normal drive the transmission stays in a higher gear and while in v4 mode with no or little real load on the engine intensifies the shake In 5 it was almost unnoticeable I should have tried this in other m gears but didn't think of it until I started writing this(someone else want to try). To me it looks like in v4 the engine looses its balance which could be corrected some what by changing the shifting pattern....not saying to take v4 out completely but at lower no load speeds set it up differently No doubt all manufacturers are chasing fuel mileage,in this case maybe to much. This is just my opinion, I hope gmc or someone can find a solution to this part of the shake problem. As a side note sometimes this is a smooth riding quiet truck. Jim
  5. After taking mine in for its first oil change (8000 kilometers could not let it go any farther in my mind)talked about the vibrations to service writer. They balanced tires found one that needed rebalancing could not duplicate the v4 shake....the owners son volunteered to go for a ride (my complaint is that when the v4 has no load or slight load on the engine it really shakes) so when driving around side streets it's worse than the highway but still noticeable when not excelerating. So while side streeting it went into shake mod around 1100 rpm.he immediately said that's not right. Bottom line he felt it was something in the exhaust causing this(harmonics my term)said he would send a message to gm but more than likely wait for a recall. Think I'll send my own as well Jim
  6. This shake vibration is going to drive everyone crazy.Mine shakes at lower speeds in town, can feel it in my lower back from seat(like warped rear rotors while breaking)only slightly. Usually I put in 5 gear and it helps a lot ,when it goes into v4 at lower speeds it's unbearable (my ram did the same thing but not as bad) but I think this is a separate issue. I think my vibration excluding the v4 issue is coming from the rear of the truck.I can't believe its tires because sometimes is is quite smooth.Took it in to make an appointment for the latest recall and the service person said they know about the vibration and will make it like new.Thats promising because it is new.I not giving up on gm yet but I've only had mine for a short time, not like some others.Someone said they think there's more than one problem and I believe that. But is it several things causing one problem or several things causing the same type of problem.
  7. Ok I think this is the right place. My 2014 Sierra started having a noise coming from the dash about 3 weeks ago ,facing dash to the right of centre...would start after the ac was on for a while (Ontario ca has been warm in the mornings) could hear it after each bump also in park as I idled it up slowly I removed everything from the glove compartments loose change from the ash tray anything that could rattle. Well today my wife and I went out early and sure enough after the a/c was on and cooled things down it starter( this is the first time we've driven together since the dash noise started ) Ok noise is a funny thing...I said were I heard it ....she disagreed said it was my side up higher..she pulled my visor down no change..............Looking up I pulled the glasses holder down took out a pair of metal ray- bans which I never thought of No more rattle noise from the off centre of the dash Drove around today for a few hours no noise Hope that was it.....and why when the truck cooled off
  8. I to have noticed a shake while slowing to stop, then turning right it still shakes slightly as I pull away.it seems like it goes into v4 as I'm stopping (no v4 light on )which at low rpm might shake worse?and stays until I accelerate. Sierra 2014. V6 double cab
