Plastic pieces peeling on back of cab
14 Silverado replied to ChevyBrad1500's topic in 2014 - 2019 Silverado & Sierra
Mine were peeling off. During a visit for an oil change brought it up to my service adviser she had them replaced under warrantee. All they did was pulled the old ones off cleaned the contact area very well and put new ones on they come with sticky tape on them new. Not an issue since they fixed it. -

You can do what I did add a hellwig helper spring to the rear of your truck bolts right on top very easy to do. Now I don't have any squatting issues when I'm towing or have a 500 pound load in the bed. Also truck rides nice and smooth when empty. A add a leaf will make your truck ride rough in the rear I'm also leveled and am loving the helper spring

Okay fast update. Installed the Hellwig Springs in about 30 minutes drove the truck to my warehouse to pick up my supplies truck rode perfect didn't even know I had helper Springs installed. Loaded my 500 pounds into the bed truck didn't squat or anything like it used to. Rode perfect down the road when loaded. When I installed the spring I put the preload to about an inch on each side because I didn't want a rough ride when empty. Max preload is 1/4 inch so I still have room to play if I need more. So far very happy. Pictures will follow once I'm home and on my computer.

Correct part number for 14-16 chevy is 987. Model 990 they bolt right on top of the existing leaf Springs no disassembly of anything on the truck required. Came with all the hardware needed looks to be a 10 minute job when I watched the video. There is a video on YouTube from u truck. Took them 5 minutes to install

Well I decided against the add a leaf because I'm not trying to lift the rear just to help when I have a load in it to prevent the squat issue. So I ordered the Hellwig helper spring model 990. From everything I read it doest lift the rear or affect ride quality when empty. They say it is progressive in design so it should fit my needs. I will post pics and a review when the come in and have them installed hopefully next weekend if it warms up. If anyone is interested the hellwig part number is 987.
