  1. Yeah, I've been reading through that thread as well. I knew I should've gotten the 8cyl. Lol Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  2. I finally found another dealership that is willing to really look at the truck. I have a GMC but taking it to a Chevy dealer that's 50 miles away. The Service Advisor was very quick to acknowledge that there are issues with the 2014s. I think I'm going to use this thread and make a checklist of all the things to look at. LOL. I drop off the truck tomorrow night. I'm kind of curious to see how many other people following this thread have the 5.3 8cyl and are experiencing the same vibration issue. 3. It's good to hear that there is possibly a light at the end of the tunnel! I need to take mine back in even though the dealership claims the issue was resolved by balancing the tires. For the most part, I drive the same roads every day so it's hard to distinguish between the road being bad or the truck. But took the truck out for a nice drive the past two weekends and definitely a vibration or shake that starts around the 70mph mark. Lately we've been calling the truck, the Vomit Comet. It got so bad driving 100 miles in it this past weekend that we literally stopped off at a stretch of car dealerships and was ready to trade it in for a Chevy 2500 Diesel and ( gasp ) even possibly a Dodge Diesel. Lol. On the advice of the Chevy dealership, I'm going to take my GMC to another dealer service department that is willing to further troubleshoot the issue as the one I normally go to just wants to keep blaming the design of the truck and bad roads in California. You would think that they would've put new tires on after riding around unbalanced for 1 year/8000 miles instead of rebalancing them with the hugest wheel weights known to man. I'm wondering if the ring and pinion gears will help resolve the problem and maybe a new set of tires. We're pretty loyal to GM when it comes to trucks but if this goes unresolved, it might be time to jump ship. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  4. So got my truck back yesterday. Diagnosis: there weren't any wheel weights on any of the tires. Guess they forgot to balance the tires at the factory. So for now, vibration and shaking is unnoticeable. Truck just turned a year old with less than 8k miles. Hopefully no other problems develop. *fingers crossed* Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  5. I just dropped off my Sierra 1500 today at the dealership. I'm interested to see what they are going to try and do to fix it. The Service Manager came out and basically said that there's probably not much they can do because the roads are so bad out here in California because they are made out of concrete and that our crew cab standard bed configuration makes it worse. Ummm, okay, (with a look of bewilderment on my face). I would love to see that diagnosis written on my repair order. LOL. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
