Am on an Eastern (mountainous) Canada road trip of 3 to 5000 miles with my 14 gmc ext. cab 5.3L, towing an Escape 3400# 5th wheel. Setting hill decent is spotty and my (navigator) wife can't find anything in the well-worn owner's manual. Help please on the procedure.

If navigation doesn't work, be thankful. Last week while on the Kansas Turnpike, I requested Turn by Turn to the nearest hospital (real, honest emergency). They directed me to a group of cattle pens just a few miles ahead. The nearest hospital was still about 40 miles away.

Best thing to change is the habit of using the stereo with the engine shut off.
