  1. Does anyone know, will the DRL's still work With Led headlights on a 2014 Silverado?
  2. I have a 2014 Silverado LTZ and looking to do the LED headlight upgrade on my low beams. What is the general consensus with the XD LED's, do I need to get the CANbus or will they work without them?
  3. Has anyone put H9 bulbs in their 2014 Silverado instead of the H11's. I have read that the connector only needs to be modified slightly in order to make the fit. Looks like H9's are 65w and 2100 lumens.
  4. 1. The panel with the home link and interior lighting buttons can be easy popped out. To remove it, let the sunglasses holder come down about half way so that you can get your fingers on there and then pull down on that panel and it will come out pretty easily. 2. Once you pop that panel out, it will just hang down due to all of the wires. You will see two hex screws attaching the back half of the overhead console to the headliner. Once those hex screws are removed, the overhead console can be carefully pulled down allowing you to access the one hex screw (drivers side) needing to be removed to take out the sunglasses holder. You do not need to remove the entire overhead console to do this mod, which is why I say carefully pull down on the overhead console to access the final hex screw needing to be removed. When you remove the hex screw, go ahead and remove the white grommet being held in by that hex screw. 3.The only thing that will be holding the sunglasses holder in at this point will be a black gear piece which you can make out in the picture luster posted above. This black gear is held in place by two tabs that just need to be popped out. 4. At this point you will have move the sunglasses holder around and the unit should be able to be removed. 5. The passenger side of the sunglasses holder has a spring system which hard to explain without a picture, but if you pay attention to that side when removing the sunglasses holder, you will have no problem reinstalling it. 6. Once the sunglasses holder is removed, use some painters tape to mark your cut lines and stuff a few paper towels in the sunglasses holder while cutting to make clean up a little easier. 7. Finally, follow these steps backwards to install sunglasses holder. Be sure to work slow and pay attention when removing sunglasses holder as it will make the reinstall much easier. ***the only thing I had trouble with when reinstalling the holder was getting the black gear reinstalled again. If you have small fingers, it should not be too hard, but a flat head screw driver is the best tool to use to pop it back into place*** I also found this thread below which I used to get a general idea on how to remove the sunglasses holder. http://www.silveradosierra.com/mobile-electronics/diy-hardwire-radar-detector-in-2014-silverado-sierra-t152633.html Hopefully I explained this well enough to help anyone modify their awful sunglasses holder that gm put in these trucks!
