  1. If you do get an answer it wil be along the lines of " we work hard to see to it that only the highest standards of quality and customer care are maintained here at gm. Customer satisfation is our #1 goal!"
  2. I have a question for those of you who have gone through this crap. I have an appointment to take my shakey 1500 to the dealer next month to have a "field service engineer" do an "inspection of the vehicle" I told tem and the BBB Autoline that I would NEVER go back to the dealer in my area. Backstabbing lying BOOBS!....So i,m gonna drive 1 1/2 hours to the dealer I bought it from for this appointment. My truck will vibrate alittle one time and then shake like hell when it wants too....I can just invision it deciding to slightly shake when this guy drives it and shake like crazy on my ride home after he says "normal, no problem found". I don,t want to be negative about it but who has,nt had a time when they can,t get a problem to present itself when they want it to? If this guy says al is fine then where do things go from there? I,m sick of GM. and this crappy truck. If they say it,s fine and I say still meesed up where it it go from there? Truth is I have been looking online at the Dodge sport r/t, trucks and the Toyotas too. I have boight a load of new GM stuff and some toyotas through the years too. I,m a little gun shy on buying another "American/Mexican truck. I don,t think I ever had to take a Toyota back to the dealer...Besides they are just as American as the others. I WOULD NEVER NEVER EVER accept trade in assistance as a solution to this problem. I will die before I buy another GM product of any kind. They have jerked me around enough. Don,t let th same dog bite you twice!. Anyway I was wondering if someone knows what happens next if they go the all is well route after the "inspection". Hope someone has some experience with that senario.. Thanks and still shaking in NC.
  3. I see that you are a mechanic...I consider myself to be one also. You might want to check my previous post re: my truck and driveshaft saga...After multiple wasted trips and hours, I ask them to see what they could find out from gm about driveshaft/propshaft problems with the 2014 trucks. The service guy looked at his computer screen and said "looks like there is a replacement propshaft with a new part #"......"I,ll order one and give you a call". Well they put it in and NO CHANGE. I was so disgusted with the whole ordeal (nine visits to the "service" dept and no help. Everyone "sorry to say me too" ruled out the driveshaft after that. Friday I set up a makeshift dial indicator and confirmed the wheels and or axles (Mexican) were turning very nice with no excessive runout. With the truck on stands tires 2" off the ground, both tires turning at 6mph I rolled under the truck and as I said before Ray Charles could see the wobble at the rear of the driveshaft. Now I will have to determine if the problem is caused by A. off center shaft yoke. B. Off center pinion gear yoke. C. Or a bad ujoint with the centerlines not correct. If you have your shaft replaced have them at least put the truck in gear on the hoist (motor running in drive) and do a visual inspection of the existing shaft to check for out of round or wobbleing. This of course does not address the question of driveshaft balance but if either are not correct the results will be "the new opering as designed feeling". I wish you well. Keep every service repair order. I was naive in the beginning and let them tell me "Oh we will keep this order open till do this or that". If I Knew then what I Know now I would have made sure my coplaints were spelled out each time on each trip.... As said before, These trucks are made up of so many defective inferior parts assembled by untrained uncaring people and serviced by parts changers, not MECHANICS WITH DIANOSTIC SKILLS. And GM customer "service". They are wearing done the victims and cutting the companys losses. "WE ARE INFERIOR GRADE".
  4. Hello fellow GM enthuseist! After 9 visits to Mr Goodwrench and some nagging from my brother and a previous post I tried something new today. One fellow said to raise the truck and check the runout on the axles..... I took that idea and put my own twist on it. I raised the rear of the truck a couple inches and put the jackstands under it. Block the front wheels. I used a6"x6" x12" block of wood with a stiff piece of wire fastened to it. Shaped the wire to point directly at the edge of the wheel. The truck idled at 6MPH. A good speed for this. ( Remember those moving parts will put a hurt on you!) Both sides were as near perfect as they could have been. NOTE: Had one or both sides shown an out of round or wobbling problem then I would have gone to thenext step and removed one or both wheels and checked the axle center ":knob" called the "drum register" by axle manufacturers. (The one in the USA anyhow). No problemo found there......So I say HEY PACO HANDME DAT WOOD. It is a Mexican axle assembly you know....... I took the make shift dial indicator under the truck (still doing 6MPH on the stands) and started under the truck to check my YES WAIT FOR IT SECOND DRIVESHAFT on this pos and even Ray Charles could see that dam thing wobbleing around off center! Don,t tell me Ray is gone I know.... For my own amusement pushed the block and wire up to the shaft near the u joint and you could hear with your ears how out of round it was! Sounded like someone doing the 1st cut on a set of pulsating rotors. It has to be out about 3/16" Does anyone wonder why this truck WAIT FOR IT............"Was operating as designed" NO PROBLEM FOUND....COULD NOT DUPLICATE CUSTOMERS COMPLAINT............Really? I would not take this truck back to the same set of jack asses if you paid me. Does it say something to you guys that a disgusted customer can use a jack and stands to discover at least one of of the problems this pos has? There really is no quality control with these things. I posted earlier about the rear axle (and of course the front) assemblies from Jalisco Mexico. Ironically the name is still American axle and gear. They put a hurt on Chrysler Jeep a few years ago with a bunch of defective products. Low bid wins!!!!!!! This is no magic bullit. I will take the shaft to a local company that makes shafts for every thing from cars to tractor trailers. ONE SHAFT at a time and I won,t need a translater. Now someone will say " why would you want to pay for that?" My time is worth something too. Ihave already filed a claim with the BBB. After hearing about that some one from gm called to say they would be investigating and would get back with me. I,mstupid I guess! I thought MAYBE they will send out a REAL tech to trouble shoot and fix the dam thing.....NOT WAIT FOR IT............. Aweek and a alf later she calls back and says she can assist me with making an appointment with the service dept. to look at my truck if if if IF IF IF IF i STILL have any concerns.......BUELER BUELER BUELER BUELLER..... I stayed calm and professional and asked how after these days of research and inof gathering does she thik that this could somehow be A. something helpful. and B something that I couldnot or have not already done my self 9 9 9 9 9 9 9 yes NINE times already???????????? She was polite and seemed like she was reading from a cue card we are familar with. I,m sorry you experiencing problems......... Any how for those that can and want too check your runout on the edges of the wheels and look at the shaft as it spins. BE CAREFUL!!! And remember Keep that great gm feeling!!!!!! 'WE ARE INFERIOR GRADE' SIGNED; Still Shakey IN NC. o
  5. On the subject of axles......... Google Automotive News---GM pickup launch slowed by AXLE SUPPLIER. Ironicallly their name is American axle and gear.. Location Silao Mexico. Is it just me that can invision the GM purchasing execs. screaming at that co. to get the axles delivered no matter what it takes? My truck shakes like the one in the video but worse at times. I really think that it involves the before mentioned "stacking effect" ( several out of tolerance parts getting in harmony) and a bad rear axle assembly. People that ride with me agree it seems like it is coming from the rear. But I would not bet on it. I think there is a combination of flawed parts that add up to the variable intensity that my truck has. It ranges from not acceptible to "keep the coffee stirred or shaken". Check out the article.
  6. I bought the top on the line Michelins for mine after the factory tires had been balanced and rf balanced over and over. I got rid of the flat spotting after the truck was parked overnight but the viration on the highway remained the same. The manager and shop foreman at discount tire both rechecked the tires and roadforce balance and said that those tire and the balance are as good as it comes. My problem was definetly NOT wheels ,tires or balance related. I think it,s pretty common for car companies to cut cornrs on tires but I have moved on from that possibility. The drive shaft was not the source either ( unless they traded bad for bad?). The service dept actually acknowedged the problem and tried to help until a GM sales rep came out and told them and me that everything is normal................... Even told me that he drove one similar to mine before I arrived and it shook worse than mine! REALLY? This was supposed to make a customer feel better? I,m afraid I have no confidence left in gm trucks. And the fact that the majority of people do alright ( OR ARE OBLIVIOUS) is not cause to "try again".
  7. My driveshaft was replaced after the tire and wheel "merry go round" . No change what so ever. I emailed Mary Barra the other day and so far no one has contacted me. I hope that this comes to a point where they have to fix em all someday. I Would like to talk with a DMA but I think it,s unlikely unless it comes from the top down. As far as the fellow with the bent shaft is concerned... There are drive train/ powertrain shops everywhere that can "retube" your existing shaft for a whole lot less and youwill end up with a one off piece rather than some imported iffy piece. Good luck. Still SHAKEY
  8. In response to post by Disapointed gmc. You say that after I file a lemon claim with BBB that gm won,t talk with me? Not to be a wise guy but they have not said or done anything productive as of yet. How will I know if I make things worse? I,m still on the edge about using a lemon law attorney. They claim to be paid by the manufacturer when and if they win the case. How would that work when and if gm wanted to settle with a buy back or a trade in deal? The lawyer would want to be paid. And rightfully so. All I ever wanted in the 1st place was to get what I paid for! A truck free of vibrations......Now I,m sick of the company and the truck. It,s a shame because it,s otherwise a nice truck. Every now and then someone stumbles across this thread (before buying a truck) and actually say something like "I,m not sure if I should buy a gm truck now or not" ARE THEY F............GOOFY OR WHAT? I would would be happy to wash my hands but not to sure if I would consider another possible round of "lemon truck and service dept. jerk around" I suppose it,s the chicken and egg story. Can,t get anybody,s attention that can actually do something so you tke the next steps and run the risk of no help just the " go to court/hearing route". A couple of proud owners on the forum began proceedings and apparently were contacted by gm (gma) and by dropping there case were able to come to agreements of one kind or another. I,m not so confident in the BBB course but I thought what difference would a few days make? I,m still looking at the different attorneys that specialize in "the unfortunate vehicle shoppers". I always want to wash my hands afterwards????? Disapointed gmc : hope you will keep us posted. I don,t want to waste any more time than needed but do want to give the BBB a chance. How long did you try with them before giving up on them? Thanks Still SHAKEY in NC
  9. Fishing Bear Can you tell me what "final repair attempt" means and who decides it is the final attemt. I,m going through the same crap and actually just filed with the BBB. today 10-06-2014. Would like to know if I or you need to sign on with a lemon law attorney or has GM. been trying not to "LEMON UP' the titles. Some where through these 216 pages I read that they would rather do buy backs BEFORE the title gets trashed. Any advice will be appreciated by me and all in the same " proffessional grade boat". Signed shakey still shakey Hey! but shakey is the new 'NORMAL OPERATING AS DESIGNED'.
  10. Hello again fellow gm enthuseist! 2014 sierra PROFESSIONAL GRADE. After waiting 4 days for a call back from the "customer service dept" I use that term loosely....... I got the dust off Friday. A very nice lady (really) named Doris talked to me about my "vibratory transport unit". She was shocked and appalled at the lack of "proffessional grade" help I was recieving....What kind of help do Chevy owners get? She really was nice when I first talked to her and the next ie: last time I spoke with her I believe the "nice lady" had been redirected by management. She wished me good luck and told me to have a good weekend. Well bless her heart............... It has taken me a while but now I,m getting pissed. I have a $40,000.00 turd in the garage that I can,t stand to drive. I,ve heard all or most of the dumb a excuses everyone else has. This morning I filed a lemon law complaint with the BBB.And per one of the earlier post sent a letter to Mary Barras email address. I know that tr84 got some sort of response a couple days after he sent an email but I,m not so sure it,s not just more "sorry you,re experiencing trouble nonsense". I would like some help reguarding whether or not I should sign on with one of the lemon lawyers or give BBB. a chance 1st? They claim on there sites that the client pays nothing.... A lawyer would not lie would they? YES more sarcasm..... I,m a bad man........I would like to here from others going through the same steps. It would help to share info reguarding what to do and what NOT to do to get through this crap. My truck is nearly a year old and has 5250 miles on it. The lugs nuts are worn out and the driveshaft has been replaced as well as the tires. This may very well be the only source of help available! I watch for some suggestions. Thanks and good luck. Shakey----Max
  11. Hello again "fellow GM. enthusist" Yes that is sarcasm.... Yesterday maybe 30 minutes after my 1st post on this forum a lady called from GM. She went over the whole saga with me and I found out that although she was careful about what she said she was aware of some issues with the trucks shaking/vibrating. She ask for the address and was very curious about this website. Probably gonna reccomend gm gets it shut down ........ She told be that the first step was to send an email to the dealer outlineing what I had told them and getting their side of the story. I told her that after they got all the money for useless repairs from GM. they went from "still doing the same thing" to " theirs nothing else we can do we have ones on the lot that vibrate worse than yours". "To that is the way it is designed". "It is a 4wd and they all ride like that". They offered to let me drive a red one similar to mine so I could see that it shakes/vibrates worse than mine. I politely told him I did not care what the other one did, just the one I paid for! I told her I was preparing to Start legal proceedings and Contacted them AGAIN (second case #) to see if there was a better way to settle this without putting the lemon on the title. I told that my case met the criteria that I have tried the dealer tried (not to hard) and the value of the truck was decreased and I really think it is unsafe in the rain. She said the dealer would have 24 maybe 48 hours to respond. I would like to be a fly on the wall for that one.....What can they say? GM. does not give them any tech bulitens or help with this and there not gonna give them carte blanche to swap parts till it gets better. The only maybe they were aware of was the prop shaft with a "new replacement" part number. That was a waste of time. I thought it was interesting that she new about my previous purchases. The one before this was a 2013 camaro. She said that I was a valued customer........and she was sorry I was having trouble. I laughed like hell and told her that was off the ladys cue card on the forum! I actually read to her the guys post saying where is she with her soory bout that story today? I told there are over 212 posts about this and she said she was gonna look at that. Rosanna Danna said "it,s always somthing". I only have 5200 miles on this thing in 10 months and don,t even want to drive the dam thing. Still shaking in NC. Hello again "fellow GM. enthusist" Yes that is sarcasm.... 12. Hello to all the fellow GM enthusist. I have actually been a member since Sept of 2013 But have lost my password and user name. Gave up and "rejoined today". I have been following this shaking vibrating story from the time I first took my "vibrator" in. I have heard most of the same excuses and misdiagnosises that you all have............. My 2014 sierra has 5210 miles on it. Looks great shakes even better. I have been a loyal gm customer my whole life and this is just about unbelievable. I no longer discuss it with people around me. If one more person ask me why I don,t INSIST they fix it I might have a apeshit fit! I at the point know where I,m ready to go all in. I,m sure it will be more rewarding than wasting time at the dealer. I plan on A. filing with the BBB. B. NHTSA. C. and filing a lemon law claim. I guess that will cost some but I am prepared for that. It won,t be any worse than leaving a nearly new truck sitting in the garage because I can,t stand driving it... I thought I would give them the option of settleing this without all that so I called GM monday. The lady "tiffany" was very nice. Said she could see I was a loyal customer assigned me a case # and said she would move this right on up to an administrator to talk with me. Nobody saw fit to call me yet. I read in the forum that GM. wouldbe more inclined to settle if they did not have to deal with the claims complaints and a lemon titiled vehicle. I called them once more this morning and the lady said that someone had me on there list to talk with this morning. I,m keeping notes and getting ready but would be happy to wash my hands of this thing. Suggestions "positive ones" are welcome. Signed "shakey" Previous user name was msnyder
