  1. FYI.. It appears our problem has made national news. See this article. http://www.cbsnews.com/news/is-your-gm-vehicle-making-you-sick/.
  2. When test driving the vehicle the noise/buffeting will happen between 35-50 MPH and between 60-70 MPH windows up, everything else off. I found 68MPH to be the point of interest on the 13 Yukons, Tahoes, and Suburbans we had driven. Do yourself a favor and do not buy!!!! Its more hassle then its worth when you end up having problems. Our 2015 Suburban ended up being a buyback to GM but it took along time to negotiate the process and you will end up very frustrated and losing money.
  3. All of you need to demand a buyback instead of all this guess work. Our 2015 Suburban was finally bought back through the repurchasing department in Michigan. There have been several buybacks so no one at GM should be surprised including the dealerships. First thing is to get a GM engineer to inspect the vehicle. I have the names of a few that have already done this part. Once they identify the "unfixable buffeting problem" then the GM regional rep must be contacted to initiate the buyback process. I also have the names of a few GM regional reps who have taken part in buybacks. Lastly document everything and don't hesitate to do some investigate steps on your own. You would be surprised how much info you can dig up when you start looking. Don't let the dealership or GM minimize this problem, stick to your guns. Worst case you go to an arbitrator thru your Attorney Generals office and get a resolution that way. P.S. GM doesn't want to go through an arbitrator because it then scars the title as a lemon. they would rather buy it back clean and sell it to another sucker. Then tell GM to stick those cotton balls up their A*^.
  4. Well.... you don't think I thought of that Huh.... THE MARKS ARE ON THE INSIDE OF THE WINDSHIELD.....NOT OUTSIDE. Id like to see the robotic arm that can install a windshield from the inside.....The marks were NOT there on our truck when we bought it but were present after the GM engineer came down to evaluate it. .. try again.....
  5. Well we drove a 2015i GMC and yes it still had the noise. Jason it wasn't as bad as others, however it was still present and it was a 2015i just off the delivery truck. I would drive your new one and see maybe it wont be noticeable to you. Tell the dealer you want it overnight to make sure before you buy. Interesting fact.....I again noticed the same circular marks on the inside of the windshield on this new GMC truck. They are in the same location as the others (Chevy and GM)so this must be some form of test they are doing on these trucks. They appear to be suction cup marks so I took pictures of them to add to my extensive file.... the dealership was baffled......I'm guessing that if its below a threshold on whatever test they are doing then it ships. I know there are some still bayed (4D00)for QC and have been delayed for weeks. Finally.... we are cashing out and getting a 2014 Suburban leftover. Not sure how it works so I will advise once the process is finished. Im pretty sure this will be our last GM product. I just don't have the time to go through all of this again and Im really upset about how GM is handling this. We know they know and they know its an issue but they deny its existence and treat all of us like we are an isolated faction. It would be nice it one of the monitors on this site would offer something other than WE ARE SORY YOU ARE HAVING A PROBLEM WITH OUR PRODUCT ...BS..... My advise to GM.... fire everyone who was involved with the R/D of this vehicle.... It should have never made it out of testing....Period. Mary T. Barra you have your work cut out for you.
  6. Going to test a new 2015i today in hopes of a resolution. Otherwise we may have to consider going back to a 2014 if I can find one. One interesting fact ... I had test driven a Tahoe LTZ last week which was a 2015 dealer trade from NJ. After driving it I didn't notice the pressure as much but I did notice that the windshield had the same circular marks on the inside of the windshield on both sides and one in the middle. As I had posted before our 2015 Suburban had these same marks after the GM engineer took it apart for the second time..... Dealership didn't have a clue or they refused to divulge any inside info. I hate to say it but we might end up in a F$#^.
  7. I agree with all of your observations. In addition, I posted earlier that I found that the noise is almost unnoticeable in the second and third row. Can you check to see if that is the case with yours. We have been back to the dealership 4 times with no resolution as they tried everything GM told them to do. Now we are looking at a buyback scenario but what to get is the new issue. Does your vehicle have a sunroof or DVD ?? I still guessing but it seems to me that this is caused either by the sound waves from the center of the vehicle getting compressed in the front by the windshield and dash or the front of the vehicle has some vibration in the frame as you had stated. Whatever it is GM Knows and they are jerking all of us around including the dealerships.
  8. I have noticed the noise getting worse on rough roads too. LuvGMC try riding in the second or third row seat while you are driven on the same roads to see it you still hear the noise. I have found its nearly non existent back there in ours. Let me know what you find
  9. Got truck back today and surprise the sound is still there. They installed some sound material in the cabin of the truck and reattached the roof bows....again. it also appears that they may have removed the windshield??? not sure why but when I noticed the marks it was past 5 so the service manager was gone. We took the vehicle for a long ride and I tried to figure out WTF.. My wife and I both noticed that the Buffering sound is almost non existent in the second and third row!!!! So whatever the issue is it seems to be isolated to the front seats and for that reason Im convinced it not the roof flexing. ANYONE else notice this ??? Anyway it looks like we are going to order another one and hope they have fixed it with the 2015iMY.
  10. Took back the Suburban so that the GM engineer could evaluate. They went through it and had some other recommendations to attempt a fix. If the fix is unsuccessful then a buyback or an exchange would be the next step. I will know Friday if its fixed. FYI- The 2015iMY Suburban's are defined as an INTERIM PROCESSING CODE. It will be listed on the build sheet as AVF:2015iMY code under "offered options". The dealer will have the build sheet... its called GM GlobalConnect. Most delivery schedules appear delayed. 2. GM took Suburban's and Yukon's from 4300 status(immediate delivery) and changed them to 4D00 ( bayed / pulled for quality control- timeframe unknown) and sent them back to Arlington Texas via rail from all over starting the first week of October. 3. I did a Search of used 2015 Suburban's or Yukon's within 250 mile radius and found 63 for sale with less than 8000 miles that had multiple titles issued ?(GM buyback mileage cutoff is 7500 miles) you can get docket #'s from the titles if you desire and talk with the prior owners. Just run the vin #'s through Carfax until you find one with multiple titles. 4. GM did not issue a TSB based on a few vehicle's with this problem. For GM to issue a TSB they require a "JUSTIFABLE AMOUT" of them. Their term not mine. If you have this issue with your truck then you should be doing all the research you can. My dealership seems to be very eager to resolve my problem at this point, so as frustrating as it has been I feel they are going to stand by the product if they cannot resolve the issue. I do believe there is a disconnect between GM and the dealerships. GM has been trying to keep this quite and I don't think they are being upfront with our service department.
  11. LOL.. Not a GM rep.. just a pissed customer whos trying to collect information to help people who have had the same issue and getting the run around. I don't want your personal info just vehicle and dealership. Mission from God ???? You call buying a 70K POS a mission from god than so be it... GM knows there is a problem and they are playing games. Im trying to get this info so we can all get a resolution to this problem by creating a undeniable data base which I have already started. So if you have the issue with your GM SUV and you want to go it alone then so be it...... If you would like information then be a part of the solution .
  12. Still collecting information from people who own Suburbans, Yukons, and Tahoes with this issue ONLY. If you have this issue send me vehicle info (VIN#) and Dealership you are working with to resolve this issue. I am meeting with GM Engineers on Wed. Send me a private message or post on forum. I do not need any personal info just vehicle and location. Also if you participated in a buy back then please send you info. Thanks Joe
  13. Don't expect any real answers from the customer service people here. They give generic answers that do nothing but waste time. UPDATE on our 2015 Suburban. First , The TSB to fix the roof DOES NOT WORK. we had it done .....FAIL. The truck was taken back to the dealer again on Fri because GM wanted them to check the rear axle gear lash. According to the dealer everything was within specs. They called GM and they are sending an engineer sometime in the next few weeks to see what else can be done. GM is acting like they know nothing about the issue which upsets me more then the vehicle !!!!!. THEY KNOW. So I will let you know if things change. ALSO. I am still collecting information on current vehicles that have this problem or have been bought back by GM. If you have not replied to me in a private message then please send me your vehicle info and dealership so I can create the database. FYI GM returned a large group of suburban's for quality Inspections in Texas so im not sure they fixed the problem. If you get a 2015i post your results please.
  14. Jason Could you provide you info on the buy back vehicle you had and your dealership. My dealership is saying GM Knows Nothing....BS right!!!! Send me a message with the info please. Thanks JMc
