  1. Well folks, I did it. After all the failed attempts at the Chevy dealer I traded it in for a 2015 Ram 1500 Larame. I have to agree with the other folks on here that have done the same thing, it was the best decision I made and I am very happy. I will admit, it's disappointing though, this is my first non-GM car in close to 20 years. They really screwed the pooch on this one and lost a long time customer. Too bad they really don't care. Well, I am off to a nice, smooth vibrationless drive to the camp ground. I wish you all the best of luck and will remain subscribed to the thread. I am interested in the outcome.
  2. I'm at my local Ram dealer right now. Someone talk me out of it.
  3. OK, so... I know some folks think the ring and pinion in the rear diff is the cause of the vibrations in our trucks. Some of you have had them replaced by GM...but how do we know the replacement parts aren't also out of spec? After some research I found two aftermarket replacements, one by Motive Gear and another by American Axle. Anyone adventurous enough to try one of these? American Axle: http://www.demandaam.com/product-catalog/axle/ring-pinion-gear-sets Motive Gear: http://eastcoastgearsupply.com/i-127200-gm-9-5-motive-gear-ring-pinion-3-42-ratio.html
  4. This may be a stupid comment but has anyone thought about the wheels not sitting centered on the hubs? That would certainly cause a vibration that would be hard to diagnose.
  5. So just out of curiosity, has anyone had them look at the front drive shaft? For me, I feel the vibration at highway speeds just like everyone else seems to. However, if I drive in 4x4 Auto, the vibration is worse. Here is my thought. In 2wd, the clutch packs probably still allow spin in the front shaft, which causes the vibration. When shifting into Auto 4x4, the drive shaft is now under a torque load making it worse. In my truck, anyway, the vibration comes more from under the front floor boards than from the rear of the truck. Anyone have any insight/ thought? I haven't looked yet, but if there is no slip yoke on the front shaft I may pull it out and drive it to see if the vibration subsides.
  6. Guys, I have a 2014 Silverado Crew Cab LT Z71 4X4. The only mods I have done are a ready lift leveling kit and BFG All Terrain 285/60/18 tires. I have the same vibration issue as everyone else. There are LITERALLY thousands of posts across the internet about this topic and no one has found an answer yet. I know a lot of people have tried the buy back route, but has anyone thought of a class action law suit?
